Brian425 0 #1 November 25, 2005 Any one have any experience? I am looking to buy a complete living room and dining room. Is it worth it to buy in NC and ship to NYC? Anyplace to try or more important, any places to avoid? I go to NC about 3 times a year to visit dad, so we will actually see before buying. Thanks, Brian The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
debonair 0 #2 November 25, 2005 I live in WA state. I've purchased several times from Boyles Furniture in NC. I went out locally, found what I wanted and then ordered through Boyles. Many times they waive shipping costs and there are no sales taxes on out of state purchases. Except for the wait (8-12 weeks) everything is great about it. FYI - its not too unusual for some furniture to require a 6-8 week wait anyway. Brian425 0 #3 November 25, 2005 Thanks Deb. I have no problem with the 8-12 week wait. I know most furniture is 6-8 weeks. I am more concerned with good service and good products. I'll add Boyles to the list to check out. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

A dining room table my wife bought in Houston back in June wasn't delievered until October...in town or slightly out of town or elsewhere doesn't matter if the company is worthless. I think they had some guy in the back whittle our table out of a piece of wheat. Ok, not really, but it took much too long to be delievered.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
rdesilets 0 #5 November 25, 2005 Try Ethan Allen, they have a few stores in NC. After much looking around, it seems that we always end at Ethan Allen as they have a great selection, and good service (IMHO). -Rob
