wmw999 2,537 #27 November 7, 2005 OK, it's late in the day. Who here has moments of thinking "a dropzone.com thread where everyone replies to me/takes off on fire" being their definition of success sometimes ? bobsled92 0 #32 November 8, 2005 Success: Not in debt. If had kids= kids safe, healthy, and fairly well adjusted? Are you happy and NOT at anyone's expense= ie. spouse not happy due to getting your own way. Happiness achieve and: no one or self...hurt in any way. highfly 0 #34 November 8, 2005 I measure my success by my acheivments in life. My greatest ones are: Managing to spend 4 months in India without being ill. My first child which will be born in June. My wife and I's new house. See attached. Being in a country whicch makes you feel hugely welcome. Being head hunted for an IT recruitment agency after being in the country for a yr and getting a huge pay rise. My next achievment is going to be me getting back into the air after almost 2yrs off. Thats how Im measuring my success at the moment. Things will change though. www.myspace.com/durtymac

RevJim 0 #36 November 8, 2005 I can't say it's personal success, but it's how i now feel: My measure of success for myself is my financial freedom. No, not that I'm rich, or even have alot of money in the bank (I don't, not even close, in fact, it's almost empty again.) I still fee a sense of freedom though, because for really the first time in my life, I don't dread finding a bill in the mailbox. It used to be that I didn't even open the gas bill in the winter. I didn't have the $$$ to pay it, and they couldn't shut me off 'till spring, so I let it slide until they shut me off, then took all summer to pay off the bill, only to do it all over again. (Heat is gas in my house. All else is electric.) I'm finally to the point now that I open a bill as soon as I get it, write out a check and mail it (or go on-line and pay it off) right away, same day. In that I'm no longer worrying about how to pay the next bill AND be able to feed my family, I feel that my personal success is at an all time high. It's your life, live it!
