Here is another joke Kris: "Aerodyne's new canopies and container are some of the most beloved products to hit the market." blah blah blah blah blah blah. Actually, I don't jump a single piece of Aerodyne product, so you can't get me there. Neither does my wife, yet, but I am buying her a Pilot. The point is, newbie, that it's pretty poor taste to come on here and trash-talk a vendor, especially when you're accusing their products of being "killers" without backing up your words. Apparently, common sense isn't very common. Very well said Kris. I, for one, just ordered a complete Aerodyne system and can't wait for it to get here. Kris 0 #34 November 3, 2005 Here's an example.... A freshly licensed jumper, who just happened to purchase gear by "Manufacturer X" happens to overhear you saying that their gear kills people. Sure, you were joking, but some things shouldn't be joked about as it's simply in poor taste. erikzero 0 #35 November 3, 2005 New Flash Skydiving is a deadly sport. Skydivers will make mistakes and die. Gear has malfunctioned and killed many skydivers. That is the risk we all take. You can't handle it, don't jump. Every jump I do I expect to die. If I live, I am lucky. With every jump you should expect the worst to happen and be ready for it. I hope you don't think you will never have a malfunction. The most you can do is be ready to try and handle it.
artistcalledian 0 #36 November 3, 2005 QuoteQuoteThe problem with text-based communication is that until people have known you for a while, they can't tell when you're joking. So, as you are a relative n00b to the site, might I advise more liberal use of the various smilies when you're taking the piss? Quote NO, The problem is some people take this to seriously. It is really funny that if I said it in front of people at a dz they would all laugh and more joking will follow with more beer. I have heard some fucked up things at a dz. 95% of the post should be taken with a grain of salt If you are chatting on yahoo or aol do you trust or believe the person you are talking to?
