Vallerina 2 #1 November 12, 2004 I finally stopped on by Whole Foods Market last night, and I am so excited! I have been going to the health store by my house, but it's small and expensive. Whole Foods Market is like a Kroger filled with organic foods! Here's there website: http://www.wholefoods.com/ I highly recommend checking one out if you have one near you! I'm lucky! It's right next to my salon! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
hooked 0 #2 November 12, 2004 I've got to go there, since I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner and my neice is wheat, gluten and dairy intolerant. They have some bread there I can use for the stuffing! AndyMan 7 #4 November 12, 2004 Craichead and I shop there regularly. We skip the supplement aile, but love their fruits and vegetables, dried bulk goods, and their meats. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
weegegirl 2 #5 November 12, 2004 I've gone to Whole Foods for years now. It rocks!!! And want to know something SUPER cool!!! One of the top dogs at Whole Foods is a skydiver. A good one too. I met him at Skydive SoBe in Florida last winter. Super nice dude. Too bad I can't remember his name.
kelel01 1 #6 November 12, 2004 Hm . . . I can't afford whole foods. I'm on the $0.99 diet. If it costs more than that, I can't eat it.

kelel01 1 #8 November 12, 2004 Due to recent financial hardships, the price for peaches just went up . . . if you want to dine, it costs you at least a dinner out.
rower 0 #9 November 12, 2004 I'm a health nut and have been shopping at WF for years. However, I recommend that you still look at the ingredient list before purchasing food. Sometimes, I'll find non-desert foods that have sugar, or something else bad, and am surprised they sell it.
Ashtanga 0 #10 November 2, 2005 Just wanted to bring this back up. I have recently been doing all of my shopping at a local Whole Foods. I love their produce, seafood, meat, salad bars and prepared food section. Someone said their recycled toilet paper is like using the yellow pages and I agree with that. I'll still go with charmin. Whole Foods Rocks!
chaoskitty 0 #11 November 2, 2005 Yah thats the only thing.. you can get a lot of ggod stuff at whole foods but you still have to make a run to Kroger for "normal" stuff.. like tp, detergents, razors.. etc.
Ashtanga 0 #12 November 2, 2005 Quote but you still have to make a run to Kroger for "normal" stuff.. Publix for me. Their submarine sammiches are better than Subway. Eat 1/2 sammich and then put the other haplf in the frig to get all soggy with the oil and vinegar and it makes a most excellent lunch the following day. riddler 0 #13 November 2, 2005 Whole Paycheck? We've had them in Denver/Boulder for about 5 years. I've spent a lot of time and money in them. I've gotten to the point that I try to avoid them when I can. There are usually better organic produce markets around - Wild Oats, Vitamin Cottage, etc. Of course, if it's your only option, it's a pretty good one. But they are IMO overpriced, not dedicated to organic foods like other markets and in Denver, it's where the rich and snobby go to shop. The one in Austin is the only really good one I've even been in - it's the original, and still the best. The one in Salinas is pretty good, but it's easy to get good produce in Cali. The one in Sarisota is snobby, and the produce is poor, considering it's Florida. I can judge the entire store from just their guacamole.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. Went to grad school in chicago and quality of product and service varied depending on location. Someone mentioned Wild Oats and I am pretty impressed with their prepared foods, especially sandwiches. Oh, and their Fiji water is cheap. I know, I know, but their water really does taste more clean and crisp to me. (don't worry, I already know how OUT that sounds, trust me; I know I am a freak) If you REALLY have some money to burn, check out FOX & OBEL in Chicago. It's like letting a vacuum cleaner suck money out of your wallet...like it's on the SHAG setting. I can judge the entire store from just their guacamole. Fiji is THE best. I like Evian too, but some people don't. Arrwohead used to be good, until Nestle bought them, then their water started tasting like tap water. If you live in Colorado, Eldorado is pretty good. Z-hills is so-so if you're in FL. I definitely stay away from Aquifina (Pepsi) and Dasani (Coke) - tastes like sludge.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
kelel01 1 #16 November 3, 2005 YAY! More water snobs! Fiji and Evian are definitely my favorites, but they can be very tough to come by (particularly Fiji, which is how I've ended up drinking Evian) in my neck of the woods.

I thought I was gonna get banned with that Fiji comment. And I agree about that Aqua/Dasani excuse for water.
ephrin 0 #18 November 3, 2005 Whole Paycheck indeed. I'm actually on a GMO only diet. No organic food for me!

Ashtanga 0 #20 November 3, 2005 In my opinion the best water is Smart Water. http://www.heybrian.com/lib/images/family/burning_man_2002/smart_water.jpg Although I have one of those built in water filter sinks at home and it ROCKS!
