SimonBones 1 #1 June 10, 2008 Does something look wrong with this picture? Be sure to check the wear on your bridle from the top of your canopy to your Dbag/PC. Mine had somewhere between 8-900 jumps on it and while on a jump at the Skyfest boogie in SC I landed to find my Dbag and PC where GONE! 108 way head down world record!!! http://www.simonbones.com Hit me up on Facebook
NWFlyer 2 #2 June 10, 2008 I just put a new pilot chute on mine solely because of the wear at the bridle attachment point (just under 400 jumps as far as I know - I bought the container used but I am making the assumption that the PC was original to the container, which was almost brand-new when I got it). I think the PC itself still has quite a bit of life in it, so if it winds up being cost effective I'll probably just get a new bridle put on so I can keep this old one around as a backup. horwichg 0 #3 June 10, 2008 That happened to a friend of mine 2 weekends ago. He said it opened "slower then usual", but it still opened fine. I packed it for him, and saw absolutely nothing unusual with the bridle/d-bag/pilot chute Sometimes these things just happen. Glad it all worked for you, it could have gone another way. punkd 0 #4 June 10, 2008 Happened to me in Zhills over xmas. Came down to find my PC was attached just by the kill line. The bridle had worn through right at the attachment where it meets the dbag. An easy to miss spot during normal packing routine. Keep this in mind during inspections! edit: spelling.
SimonBones 1 #5 June 10, 2008 QuoteDid you find your stuff? Nope. Walked around the field for a while looking all in the tall grass. It was a bit of a long spot.
