McGonigal 0 #1 October 21, 2005 there are two jumps I will always remember, the first jump of course, but the first time seeing someone in freefall. That was Bernie Sayres way back at his DZ in Woodbine N.J. I will never foget that vivid sight of him flying down and coming over to give me my first hookup, he wore a yellow jumpsuit and had a grin fron ear to ear, I guess I looked freaked out to him, it was sureal, and I will never forget that moment. flyangel2 2 #2 October 21, 2005 Since I learned how to skydiving years ago with the S/L, I too remember that first pin. I was shocked to see Bob Moorehead swoop down and dock me. He too had a smile from ear to ear. I even got my first kiss pass on that jumpMay your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. livendive 8 #3 October 21, 2005 Mine was with Larry Warner (D-1312). I barrel-rolled reaching for the grip as he was closing, and we landed off. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
masterrig 1 #4 October 21, 2005 I was on my last delay as a student. One of the older jumpers swooped in and docked with me. Scared the crap outa me! Chuck
vt1977 0 #5 October 21, 2005 The first time I saw someone in freefall was on a 15 second delay. I was turning slowly (as I did for many of my student jumps) and I remember seeing the instructor who had followed me out smiling right in front of me. It was beyond cool! I honestly think I will feel so much more relaxed having someone out there with me. Just need to get through the first freefall by myself.Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
Ten9T6 0 #7 October 22, 2005 The first time I saw someone in freefall was on the ground getting ready to do my tandem. From the ground I was watching as this person was dropping through 1000 ft.. ..I thought, man, I might not be able to do this...haha..that's when I was told that it was not normal and we wouldn't be taken the tandem that low. The first time seeing someone in freefall...while I was in the air was that next jump. The camera guy came swooping out of the sun. It was awesome. The scariest time I saw someone in freefall was while I was under canopy and they came within 10 feet of me.....There was almost an ass whoopin when I got back to the ground. Someone else beat me to it. Kenny

fallman 0 #9 October 22, 2005 First dock was up in Lodi just as I got off the static line course, Bill himself swooped in grabbed one hand and spun the hell out of us! I'll never forget that. Also, the first time i saw someone in freefall when I was under canopy, I watched the tandem deploy and the cameraman fall away. Really put what we're doing into perspective. It tied in the floating feeling of freefall with the reality that we ARE falling really fast while that surreal floaty feeling is goin on. woa....that was cool....
