Stupid Idea??

So I just moved to AK Anchorage area. And have figured that since snow is not to far in the distant future I should learn to snowboard since being from the Houston area I have ever really seen snow let alone play in it. Well anyway one of my co workers being nice gave me an old snowboard of theirs. the price is right so I take it (free stuff rocks) problem is it has no bindings and since the board is old the local stores dont have bindings that fit it. or their just trying to sell me a new board dont know. so heres the question I just so happen to have an old set of bindings off of my friends old SKYboard that look like they may fit on. Has anyone any experience on that working? Could it work?

Thanks
Dan

If it's that old, you might just be better off getting everything new (or new to you, anyway) as a package.

Nope, it's not going to work. From what I've seen with skyboard bindings vs snowboard bindings, the skyboard bindings are not as stiff.

What do you plan on doing for boots?

How old is the board? What kind is it?

Why not rent a board and take a few lessons before you buy anything. The newer boards out there are wonderful. They have come a long way since they first came out. I have an old board in my garage that I won't touch anymore now that I have a super light board.

Bawhaha.........you guys crack me up with how you feel about snowboarding. Kind of like how the non-skydivers look at you when you tell them you skydive.

If you do everything right, you won't get hurt. <---Wow, that's what I tell my non-skydiving friends when they ask me why I skydive.

Dude, I tried to keep him from ghettofying it, but he quit listening to me ages ago...

and Honey, it's grammAr... errrrg

Hey, is this the new Wife?

How do you like my birthplace? I think the bindings would be too egronomically awkward to use as a snowboard.

Come on guys. I've been snowboarding for five years now and I have all my body parts working just fine.

Ditto, and I've been snowboarding for 15 years. But I *haven't* been snowboarding with skysurf bindings, nor (I suspect) have you.
