Who were your role models?

Recommended Posts

Yep...gotta be my Daddy. He taught just about all of the technical stuff that I know...like how to change the oil in my car, change the tire, rewire a socket, hammer a nail the right way, build a staircase, woodworking....the list goes on.

I pretty much owe most of my career to him and what I have accomplished to him and my mother. :)

Damn, lady. Can you discuss the relative merits and drawbacks of varying defensive coverage systems in football? Do you enjoy pizza and beer? Do you have any opinions on the elimination of the two-line pass rule in the NHL?

If your answers to all of these questions are "yes" I know several guys who would like to get to know you better.B|

My wife is hotter than your wife.

...naked on the packing area...

Gotta love him, gotta love him.
Only guy I know who can tell you shit about your Mama, your Daddy, your dog and your cat and make you laugh while being hammered.:D:D:D

Should have seen him at last year's Halloween Boogie at SDA walking around lit up with Xmas lights with his costume loincloth down around his knees....:D:D:D
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

Being from an older generation, my role models outside skydiving were:

My Dad

Captain Kangaroo

Dwight Eisenhower

All the firemen at the station on the corner of the neighborhood and the main fire station downtown. (They would let kids slide down the pole in those days and ride on the trucks when they did their post wash drive arounds.)

Coach Williams

Captain Johnson

Captain Sadler

Colonel Black

Uncle Johnny

Raymond Holliday

Calvin Collier

SF Team A502

MACV Team 46

and ...

Rocky & Bullwinkle
Spy vs Spy
Mighty Mouse

Blue skies,

Jim

All of my early role models ended up being "false prophets" and it took me quite a long time to realize that my alliances and allegiances were bound to change over and over again as I went through different phases of my life. None of that bothers me. I am incredibly self-sufficient and am not particularly bound to anyone (other than my wife, obviously.) When you drink alot, your drunken buddies are your best friends. When you tea-total, your religious-zealot friends take up most of your time. Ultimately, I try to strike a happy medium these days.

Chuck

Does that mean you get drunk with religious zealots :ph34r::ph34r:

My role model is PINKY (the colour pink wouldn't work :|) from Pinky & the Brain, he's the happiest fugger I've ever seen :D:D:D:D
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)
My Life ROCKS!
How's yours doing?

Mostly all yes. Still getting to know what rules were changed in NHL, but I did watch two games last night....seeing as how hockey is FINALLY back. :P I love cold dark beer and pizza....as for football I can argue strategies with the best of them. Although I mainly prefer college football (see below for fav team) I do enjoy watching a good pro game.

This is starting to sound like a personal add. :D

Gunnery Sgt. Davis, USMC. He will always be a role model.

"Kiss me goodnight, Gunny Davis,
Tuck me in my little trundle bed,
We all love you, Gunny Davis,
Even though you're fat and growing old!

Don't forget to wake me in the mo-o-orning,
Bring me 'round my little cup of tea!
We all love you, Gunny Davis,
Gunny Davis, you're a MUTHA to meeee!"

KIA Vietnam - RIP Gunny!
(For those of you who don't understand this, sorry. Somebody out there might.)

I understand it perfectly.

My role models? My Dad, and many an 80's TV star from such great shows as Dukes of Hazzard, A Team, Audie Murphy (The movie one........not the real one), Bob Hannah (7 time world Champion MX rider), and Clint Eastwood's characters in many movies.
