Lets see if you guys can actually figure out what I'm trying to get to: Said that the climber actually locks in (ax's or whatever you guys use) with their hands (he had seen it done on ice) and then throw their legs one at a time over their arms and then work from there, next move more with your hands..get a good grip then kick your leg over your arm again to regrip with the other hand... The guy he was telling me about was doing this on ice inside a cave on the ceiling if I remember correctly...the way he described it all I could invision was a double jointed spider hehe! I also watched a video a while back that blew me away...The guy in the video was doing some insane climbs and ropejumping off of the cliffs he was climbing..Dan Osman if I remember correctly...that guy.. shit..HE had balls. I think it's mostly used in ice- and mixed-climbing (climbing ice and rock with ice gear); I suppose it could be done on regular rock, but wow - what a trip! I'm guessing your buddy saw a film called "Musashi"; I saw it at the Banff Film Festival a couple years ago. The guy who put up that M-graded route (Mixed) is incredible. A friend of mine, who's been ice climbing for over 12 years (solo for half that time), said "that's damned impressive. I can't even come close to that." Good stuff.
