Wireless Internet at the DZ?

Recommended Posts

There's a wireless router in my cabin at Finger Lakes Skydivers, but the Amish keep jacking my bandwidth.....:SB|
Pete Draper,

Just because my life plan is written on the back of a Hooter's Napkin, it's still a life plan.... right?

How slow..? I mean, I need to upload large files over the connection... will it maintain itself??

Depending on where you are on the DZ. It varies. But compared to a 802.11g it's pretty doggon slow.

802.11b is much faster than a cable internet connection. A faster wireless network won't really speed up anything you do over the internet, only things you do within the network like transferring files between computers.

Not that anyone cares, but Connecticut Parachutists also has wireless.

Is 802.11B faster than a T3?

Off topic and a Poll: Do you go on the internet at the Dropzone?

I go to the dropzone to get away from daily life, even if it was there, I'll be damned if I ever use it.
