Ok, it SHOULD be fixed. there was some computer @%@#%@$#on Bank Of America's end but they assure me that is has be corrected.

I currently have transportation (my SUV) here in Austin, TX where lots of the hurricane homeless are now moving too since Houston is full. I also have some time off and can pick up anyone from N.O. (if needed) and take you to where ever you need to go (family, new dz.com roommate, etc.) I would offer my home but I currently do not have one and am sleeping on a couch myself.

I know we may be a bit far north but I'll offer anyway.
Spare bedroom for 1 or 2 (3 if your family) in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains of E. Tennessee near Gatlinburg! We accept pets and kids because we love them, we have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a 10 y/o.

We also have 2 wind tunnels within an hour of our house to play at and one p/t DZ. Can't offer work but can look after and feed someone or a small family for a little while.

I just want to suggest to anyone considering taking any refugees into their home to check with your homeowner's policy. Make sure you have protection for them and protect yourself should someone get injured.

With so many people being displaced and homeless, does anybody know if there is a job/recruitment website geared specifically at these people. If there is any need for this, I could set up a site where employers could post job openings geared towards these victims and jobless ppl post their availability?

Any thoughts?

Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org/) has something like this. The cities in red (on the right-hand side) have Katrina relief sections with temporary jobs available.

I'd be happy to pick someone up after work on Friday and drive them anywhere I could get to and still get back to work on Monday driving as many hours as I can stay awake. I live in the Mid-Tennessee area and will go wherever to get someone where they need to go. Wish I had more time off to give but I'm new at my job. Let me know if you need a ride somewhere. I'm also available on the weekend to help carry stuff down if anyone needs that kind of help.

And my Fire Dept is hiring at the moment: EMT/Firefighters.

We're a hell of a hike from LA, but we have a spare bedroom, could put at least two people there. A couple more if absolutely needed in the finished basement. We also have a camper at the DZ we'd definitely let a family live in, at least 4 could fit in it.
