Thank you. I like it because I can make money and be with my boys.

I would love to go to a boodie but I have no idea where Dublin is.

Ireland :)

Oh, and I did SL. Not that expensive, just slooow. The expensive part was my rig. I suppose my GF is going to forgive me eventually :D (paid that out of an inheritance)

I probably can't make that boogie:D

How did you like SL? I love it so far. Yes it is cheaper, but at my dz I will be off student status after 12 jumps (if all goes well). At the other 3 dz's around here that do AFF, it's like 14 or more jumps before you are off student status. I also love the gradual nature of SL because I had a very frightening AFF jump[:/]

I remember your post about that :)
I liked SL just fine. My problem was the 5 sec. delays. Our instructors insist that you have to be rock-solid stable from exit until pull time. That's difficult with poised exits, and you can't reach the strut on a C-206. I didn't get to full altitude until I had ~20 jumps.

Just a note, no matter if you do SL or AFF, or IAF for that matter, you are still a student until at least 25 jumps (that is the minimum if you have met all the other requirements for the A license by 25 jumps). I'm sorry you had a frightening AFF jump but are you gonna feel more comfortable chunking yourself out of a plane on "self-supervision" after 12 "jump and dumps" or 14 minutes of freefall with in-air feedback with regards to your body position?

My wife paid for the first couple of jumps and then I worked at the dropzone every weekend for the rest of the AFF course.

This seasons A licence jumps were covered by my employer as a performance bonus. Yes, my employer rocks. No we're not hiring :)

TV's got them images, TV's got them all, nothing's shocking.

Oh man, now I feel really bad .. no that bad mind you, but bad. If I could figure out how to get google ads back, I'd do some more.

I did not pay for my skydiving training. My dad owns a DZ and I grew up helping pack parachutes and hanging around the DZ. Oddly, when it came time for me to start jumping, he sent me away with one of his best friends to another DZ for my training. He didn't want to have any part of it and I never made a jump with him until I had around 50 jumps. I figure that was so nobody would say that corners were being cut.

I used a tax return and I saved up my cash then sold some stock to buy gear. I totally agree that you should get gear as soon as you can after AFF it opens many doors. Also you can pay for it by packing. That is what i am about to start doing...Its all good though. What ever it takes to playin the clouds.
Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama
