College Skydiving clubs

I recently started a Skydiving club at my school and have found getting funding is very hard. I talked to a couple other clubs around campus and found that they ask for donations. I don't know if I am in the right place but I thought I would give it a try:

To anyone who has a spare or old jump suit laying around and would like to donate it to the young ling newbies out there in poor college town please PM me or write back.

I am starting with the basics and hopefully if they (the university) sees us pulling together and getting people interested they might spring for some rigs! I know I know... wishful thinking. But I can hope.

I have already planned some seminars and demonstrations, I just hope I can rope some poor college students into AFF and the joy of falling through the air at 120+ mph.

Getting a club started is hard, especially a skydiving one. More than once, have clubs tried to start and the colleges turn them down becuase of liability or advise against it to their sponsors and professors.

As for the school giving you money for jump suits etc, I wouldn't hold your breath. Our club has been with the university for over 30 years, we get roughly $1000 a year which is to be used for advertising on campus and collegiates. Our dropzone is self sufficient and we don't rely on the university to support us at all. If you are relying on them to do so, the club won't go far. You have to look at it in the eyes of the college, to them, a club isn't going to bring in any more students or advertising etc, it's just another thing they can put on the list at the activities carnival. Now compared to a large sport or event, that competes and bring in spectators in the area, that's a different story.
