ACMESkydiver 0 #26 September 2, 2005 Rock climbing walls are FUN to watch people do! My daughter has climbed more than 7 faces multiple times, she is a little spider girl. I watched my husband climb a big one on the stern of the cruise ship we were on, and man did it look tough! Think I'll continue to be the picture-taker until I develop a lil' more strength. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Women tend to use technique and their legs more, so at the end of the climb they aren't as tired. What ends up happening is the men progress to harder climbs much faster than women, but plateau much soon then they either learn technique and get better or the women ends up passing them up because she has the technique and by then the strength to do the very hard climbs. So get out there and try it. Fly it like you stole it!

I was thinking about getting her into some sort of kids climbing club if I can find one... The one thing that has me wondering though is my little Jaleesa is terribly hard on herself and becomes frustrated and very upset if she cannot conquer a particular face. We've told her that some of the walls she was trying to climb are for bigger people (she is VERY small for her age; she is about the size of a typical 6-7 year old). I want to encourage her but not push her into something that could possibly be so overwhelming that she finds no pleasure in it any more. -Skydiving was like that for me for about a month. My husband asked me why I kept doing it if it pissed me off so bad...I really didn't have a good answer but realized that I needed to do jumps that were fun for me, not overly challenging for me. I had to remind myself that I don't make a living at this shit, I'm just trying to relax! Oh, and you won't find me climbing anything for quite some time. It just can't happen. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
