Good luck dude! Let us know how you do somehow. Power and networking will probably be out for a long time, so perhaps you could call someone and have them post how you made out. Got a ham radio?

I'm gonna be the DZ.com Reporter for the Hurricane. I'm gonna be like that guy on th beach yelling anyone who come where I am standing now will be killed.

18:50- Rain has started. Fairly moderate rate, wind around 10-15mph. More details to come.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

New Orleans is 6 feet below sea level.. add 25-30 feet of Storm Surge and i REALLY hope anyone who stays behind has their Scuba gear handy... if it continues as predicted there isnt going to be much of the Big Easy left by Wed... :(

sadly mandatory doesnt always mean mandatory, its there way of saying if your going to be a dumb fuck and stay then dont look to us for help. As in if you are hurt, stranded etc there wont be people around to help until AFTER the storm...

Not true, just heard on CNN that the laws have changed that they can force you to leave. If you still don't, then you sign a waiver that they can later use to ID your body.
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey

well then its not forcing if you can waiver out of it, but hell its like the death game in skydiving, if it comes to the point of signing a paper to have a body ID then they need to leave, I wish we would hear if Chris and Al left... anyone know?

Last year, the power went out and we were listening to the radio. The speaker was doing a live TV/radio broadcast from the coast.

"Yes, Bob, the wind is so strong now that the rain is almost vertical..."
"(cough) horizontal"

The 92 y.o. grandparents are at my parents house now and awaiting landfall in N.O. by 7-8 am and then decide if they should board up. They don't think they'll get anything until noon-2pm tomorrow in Mobile.
We have a lot of family in N.O./Slidell area and are on pins and needles since they too decided not to leave.[:/]

Tammy is in New Orleans with her family. Her nephew's funeral was Friday and her neice's is supposed to be on Tuesday. Her family has never left for any hurricane. They haven't boarded up a single window or picked up one sand bag...

I am scared, but my family has gone through a lot this past week and my father who is 70 (but not helpless) did not want to go for a variety of reasons:

1. The funeral of my niece is Tue
2. The restaurant my family owns is under contract with the Entergy company to provide food to their workers and to the fire and police departments and emergency workers around the parish I live in...

My dad and I are prepared with lifejackets, water, food, and we have a plan if it floods so we are going to do our best. Right now it is not that bad but I know it is going to get bad. I just could not leave my father and other stubborn sicilian family members.

My prayers are with everyone in the area...

it's gotten strangely quiet from ROokie & the rest. They've probably lost power so they can't connect.:|

Not yet...but I'm sure it'll happen overnight sometime. My anxiety is overwhelming, can't sleep. I'm glued to the weather reports.[:/]

Hi Guys,

We're following all the news reports on Fox television. It all seems very scarry and we wish you all the best.

Please be careful and I would suggest that all lovers have a very memorable shag, so there will always be something nice to remember this awful time by.

Rookie my friend, can't you get your supply of bourbon from somewhere else? I'd gladly FTP you a bottle, just let me know;)

Nice to meet you toot!
