It looks like more tests will be performed on his neck either tomorrow or Thursday and surgery is slated for next Friday. Lynette, one of William's friends, has gathered about 5 of her co-workers together to do therapy on Wm when he goes home. Lynette is an occupational therapist and she has physical therapists and a speech therapist in line. My goal is to have Wm come home rather than go in a care facility, but I need to ensure that his is somewhat mobile so I don't have any fears of dropping him on the floor or hoisting him up. I'm not a big girl and I can't carry him. The outlook for Wm is very good but all of the doctors have told me to look at about a year's worth of initial therapy. Cognitively, Wm is not all there but I have high hopes that this will come in time. i.e. Some days he says he is 67 years old and other days he says he is 20. Also, according to last week, it was the year 2003 but today it was 1928...................................................................... His progress is miraculous!! He walked down the hall today without a walker!He was spunky as hell when Andre and I were there along with his mom and said "no, no and NO!" I told him the Japanese Fart joke and he laughed and he told us a joke and all we could understand was "fuck you, NO, FUCK YOU!" it was most funny as he put his hands out and demonstrated the "NO, fuck YOU" part of the joke! He was kicking his legs and pulling them up....William is a fighter no doubt! He has surgery this Friday fusing his C1 to C2. I am so hopeful and pray that this surgery will be the start to much more progress. Also, I admired his "wall of fame" of cards, emails, letters, and photos...it was like he is running for Mayor! I told him that and he laughed and said "dude you have a lot of friends!"..he said "yup but where are the pics of me on there?"
