AirMail 0 #1 August 28, 2005 just flew over my house in Buffalo. Twice. I heard it the first time and saw it the second time. I'm pretty sure it was a B-17. P--- It's never too late to have a happy childhood. Postal Rodriguez, Muff 3342
swedishcelt 0 #2 August 28, 2005 You're in Buffalo? Woh. I'm sorry. Just kidding! I have looked for pictures of that plane and others like it too. (I am so clueless, radial?) I have never seen one at a drop zone yet though. I go to my first airshow though next week. Maybe I will get lucky and meet one in person someday. riddler 0 #3 August 28, 2005 They had a B-17 at WFFC in four or five years ago. Does anyone else know if it still flies jumpers? I heard tickets were a few hundred dollars, and the money went to a charity.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
AirMail 0 #4 August 28, 2005 They are very cool. I jumped from this one last summer at Rantoul. It's called "nine-o-nine". Four BIG radial engines. Not very fast. P--- It's never too late to have a happy childhood. Postal Rodriguez, Muff 3342

happythoughts 0 #7 August 28, 2005 The Colling Foundation flies the B-17 and B-24 around for public appearances. appearance schedule The B-17 is $400 for a 30 minute ride. It gets to about 5,000 ft. It is your choice if you want to land with the aircraft. I went out the bomb bay door. If you think a DC-3 is loud, double the number of engines.
