I have only been jumping since April 30th so it is still relatively new to me. But I probably have 1 dream every other month about skydiving. Usually they start out good.

Like the last one I was sitting on a cloud talking to a couple of other jumpers (I won't mention names because they might be worried that I dream about them......) so I am sitting on this cloud for a while and finally decide to jump off and land. I do a quick handle check (my gear is already on) and I jump off. Well in this dream I was tracking to the drop zone which was on a beach near a cliff....... yea great location. So I am tracking towards the cliff and I go to pull and nothing happens and I continue to track into the cliff I woke up right before I hit.

So needless to say I am not really sure whether that was a good or bad dream you tell me.

Not very often, but I had one last week.

It was a big way RW jump over the ocean by the coast. I tracked away at the end of it, couldn't grab my throwout handle, and then I struggled with my reserve ripcord, but I managed to get it pulled. I ended up landing in the water though :D

All of my skydiving dreams seem to involve some kind of malfunction :S I've gone in a few times in my dream (streamer, low pull), but I always seem to survive :o:D

I used to get them almost every night after I first started.

Usually, they would be *really* lifelike, very good 2-way freeflies that would last for a long time. After about 5+ minutes of screaming thru the clouds doing stuff that would make jimmy tranter look like an AFF student, I would realize that we had lost altitude awareness/double malfunction/etc, and I would track into some trees or something, bounce, and end up rolling across the ground at a high speed. Then I'd stand up, dust myself off, and find my buddy and give him a high five and talk about how awesome the jump was. I'd wake up in the morning completely psyched, ready to go out and do another one!

Then I'd go to the DZ (in real life) and marvel at how much I sucked in freefall (compared to my perfect dream) and then suddenly remember that if I didn't pull, things wouldn't turn out as well as they did in the dreams :$

I really wish I could get those dreams back with the same intensity and frequency that they had last summer. They were so lifelike it's scary.

I have skydiving dreams at least 3 nights a week, and have done for at least 3 years. In my dreams I always miss out on jumping. Weather, gear not ready, plane unserviceable, no slots on a lift, etc. I jump in the UK and this is what happens more often than not, so the dreams are unsurprsing. In probably 2000 dreams about skydiving I haven't done a single jump!

Hey, at least they're better than the dream I had once about Hannibal Lecter trying to butt fuck me with a floppy dick!

What's funny is that I've ALWAYS, my whole life, had flying dreams. I still have those dreams, but now I fly like a skydiver and not like peter pan...lol.

I sometimes have dreams where I am running and gradually my strides turn into me being in the air for a coupla hundred feet at a time - then I am flying.

Last week I had my first skydiving dream. It was a solo jump (haven't done a solo yet) and everything went beautifully. I must have been skydiving for 5 or 10 minutes when I pulled. I woke up when I was under canopy.

One interesting things about dreams is that most people dream in color, but almost all dreams occur in low light "scenarios" which leads people to think that they dream in black and white.

Ah yes, the good ol no pull dream. Nothing better than hitting the ground, standing up, and realizing you can make the next load cause you don't have to pack. I love that dream.

I hate the dreams where I head to loading and see the plane taking off without me or I'm on a 5 minute call and I can't find my rig or am unable to make the load for some reason. Unfortunately I seem to have this dream more often than good freefall dreams.

So far, once in two months. It was Friday night/Saturday morning, before I went to the DZ on
Saturday. What I remember is from at or just after pull time. The canopy deployed and got rectangular -
but it was only a single surface, like a round! I could see the tops of the risers and the lines going up
to it. The canopy kept turning back and forth on its own - it would get to where it was almost twisting
the lines in one direction, then stop and turn the other way, and so on. I wasn't still in freefall, but I was
falling faster than I would with a "good" parachute. I looked at it for a while, then thought, "I've been
watching it too long, and it still looks weird. Better get rid of it." I cut away and pulled the reserve; the
reserve was normal and worked just fine. I remember starting to steer the reserve, but I don't remember
the landing.

After I woke up, I thought it was reasonably cool that 1) I had my first dream about skydiving and 2) I
did the emergency procedures correctly. :) I told someone at the DZ about it and they thought that I
was taking my dream as a "bad sign", which I wasn't. The first jump that day went fine.

When I first started ..no dreams .
after a while more and more.. usually the one where the parachute falls as fast as me and I have to keep pulling it in and throwing it out again (hang over from manually deployed reserves?)

Then a series of impossibly small parachutes impossibly far above me with incredibly long lines that don't seem to slow me down (bag- lock dreams)

I've lost count of the number of bounce dreams and have seen and still do see heaps of low break off multiple bounces on the side of hill incidents in dreams. Just the other night I had to look away cause two more bounced close by. Once a person bounced right next to me when I was walking to the plane with a student.

Then I started bouncing ... it gets kinda fun..

Now I look forward to skydiving dreams and love it when other people share their dreams with me.

They haven't all be bouncers ...heaps and heaps where I end up in the plane without my rig and do the jump anyway floating around laughing with my skyfriends.

It doesn't seem to matter if I'm doing a lot of 'real' skydives at the time or not.. the dreams just seem to come when they want although I have noticed a big difference when I'm not consuming any alchohol.
:)then the dreams get very vivid and real .

I remember reading about a Amazon tribe that advised its children to go with it if you have falling dreams . Their philosophy was to see where it takes you ..not be afraid of falling but to enjoy it as a gift from the gods.

This makes them all feel good to me.:)

I have been having dreams about skydiving lately. It has been one month since my first AFF jump.

Over the past few nights, I just remember being in freefall and under canopy for only a moment. The other night I remember more than just a brief moment - being in the Otter flting up to altitude - and realizing that I should not jump with the rig on my back. It being a 190 sq/ft canopy and me still being on student status. The DZO was on the flight and he was mad that I was let up with a 190 instead of a student canopy, but he was glad I caught it before I jumped.

I don't mind dreaming about skydiving, it is better than some of the dreams that wake me up in a panic and I momentarily forget where I am..........I'll take skydiving dreams ANYDAY. It is nice to have something so amazing encroach on my sub-consious.

My skydiving dreams are usually nightmares before a weekend of jumping, and nice after jumping... my nightmare is always similar... it includes me landing in a area of water (I cant swim) and while trying to learn to swim I get attacked by the alligator... I survive only to find out that he ruined the rental gear and I get billed for it....
