Prayers for Gratefuldreamer

Please pray for Tammy (gratefuldreamer) and her family. Several of her family members were involved in bad car accident last night.

Tammy's dad was Brian's, the driver, legal guardian. He lived with Tammy and her dad for the last year or so. His short life was filled with neglect and abuse until her dad took him in. We knew he had a problem with alcohol and her dad had no tolerance for it. He almost threw him out the one time he caught his friends with beer at the house and since then Brian told us he wasn't drinking anymore.

He died and his sister died in the crash. His other sister is in critical condition. One of their friends died and another is in critical condition. They were all teenagers.

Her father is having a very hard time with this. Not only did he lose 2 grandchildren (one practically a son) but the circumstances make it worse.

So please remember her family this week and recognize the kind of pain drinking and driving can cause.

Ouch.

Prayers for the families of those involved.

It's hard to explain to teenagers that they are not going to live forever and that decisions that they make (involving drinking, driving, AND riding with drunk drivers) really can and do have life and death consequences.

Perhaps this horror will lead to others taking more of a stance against drunk driving.

Those that have not jumped can not understand
Those that have jumped can not explain.

Tammy flew to New Orleans this morning to be with her family. She may end up dropping out of school for the semester to be with her dad. He's going to need alot of comforting since his house is suddenly empty.

Tammy is such a beautiful person. I'd probably drop out to be there for my family as well. I couldn't imagine being able to concentrate and focus on my studies when you know your dad is hurting from the loss.

Thank you. Tammy has been visiting her niece in the hospital and she is doing very well.
