I really like my parents' music.

I do.

I LOVE the BeeGees, the Doobie Brothers rock, Jimmy Buffet came into my life at about 4 yo, and every once in a while I'll hear some song from the 60's / early 70's that sounds so familiar...

And I really like it.

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

I can live without the BeeGee's. The rest of your list I like. Gotta love Buffet and my favorite song of The Doobie Brothers is Jessica.

I liked my parent's music too . . . whenever I heard Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, or Tony Bennett playing on the Hi-Fi I knew I was about to get a quarter to go to movies and Dad was going to get lucky . . .

I love Sinatra and Bennett. I wish I had half the voice of those guys. Stuff like "I cant get started" and who doesnt like "One for my baby".

I was quite surprised when, my 2-sons were quite little, got 'hooked' on The Who, TheStones and The Yardbirds! Eric Clapton, soon followed. For some reason, I couldn't get them to listen to Merle Haggard, Willie and Waylon and some of those folks! :D

Not me.

ABBA doesn't do it for me, although Elvis ain't bad and some classical is good if I'm in the right mood.

There are a few that should be added. Janis Joplin, The Motels, and you need to get some jazz in there. A little Grover Washington, David Koz, David Sandborn, Buddy Holiday. I'm looking at I-Pods now. I shouldnt be spendin that kind of money but what the hell.

Two words: GRATEFUL DEAD

So many people love them and I dont know why. I would rather masterbate with 80 grit sandpaper than listen to an entire Dead album. Maybe it's I didnt live through the 60's and 70's and have never taken acid before.

All those old bands you list are pretty good, and I've listened to them and even seen some of them in concert. What bites is people my age who refuse to open their minds and ears to anything new. I can only listen to Hotel California so many times before I want Green day's "Dookie" on for an antidote.:P Eric Clapton is great in concert, but so was Mother Love Bone. Music didn't stop in 1973, and rap is not the downfall of civilization. :D

Got tickets for Green Day, coming to town next month. Can't wait.:)

You'd love the punk band that has the song "I Hate the Grateful Dead. (I'll Be Grateful when They're Dead)" Can't remember which band, though, sorry.

For the record, I do have some Dead in my collection. . . . somewhere . . .;)

Sweet, I need to look them up. I think the main reason I hate the Dead so much is first of all, there music sucks and sounds really bad. Maybe if Jerry would sober up for more than 5 minutes he could tune that piece of shit he tried to call a guitar. Just my opinion and we know how far that goes.

I LOVED it when my son and his buddy learned to play that on guitar. Made me feel a bit old tho, cuz it was my music revived...

Sweet, but I messed up, Jessica is The Alman Brothers. I wish I could learn to play that but I think I will stick with the Sax.
