fireflytx 0 #1 August 8, 2005 OK, So I am entering an itty bitty titty contest other than the club I work in. I want ideas for my shows. I need to win one thursday out of this month to go to the finals September 8th. Each time I perform I have to do two songs. Here are my ideas, please help elaborate or if your ideas are better than mine I will use it. I like shows that have class to them and not real trashy since I do consider myself a exotic performer not a lousy stripper OK First night: Wearing pink and black corset, black bussel, feathers in hair, ornate choker, thigh highs, platform mary janes with pink hearts, long gloves, very old school burlesque and I will be dancing with HUGE ostrich feather fans the song I am using is the old school david rose orchestra stripper music than goes on for a minute and blends into The Tubes, She's a beauty. The second part of this set I am thinking I am going to sit in a kiddie pool and cover myself with pink paint that glows in the black light to Pretty In Pink. Finals show: Wearing a long see through white cape like outfit, very flowing on the sleeves and the bottom of the dress flows and it is decorated with rhinestones, with a white corset over top, decorated in rhinestones, the whole outfit accessorized with rhinestone and silver, choker, hair, shoes, etc. I will be twirling and dancing with a huge 5 foot balloon, she attached pic to get an idea (this like the fans is an old Sally Rand act) and I will be dancing to Sting Desert Rose, second part of the show I am going to eat fire and do fire transfer on my body since I won't be able to bring any of my big torches in and stink up the place. Not sure of what song for the fire, so if you have suggestions???????"Well behaved women rarely make history"
waltappel 1 #2 August 8, 2005 Here are some random thoughts: I'm a creative kind of guy (at times) but when I read your post, my gut reaction was, "Who the hell is going to be able to come up with something more creative than that?!!!" It really depends on the audience. I think your musical choice is really clever--big band transitioning to classic rock. I like that idea. Here's another one. IMO, the most sensual song ever is "Hayling" by FC Kahuna. It just does it for me. "Leave your Hat On" (either the Randy Newman or the Joe Cocker version) is totally sexy but Hayling is incredibly sensual. I very rarely go to strip clubs, or any bars, for that matter, but I think the dancing is most strip clubs is kind of boring. It all seems the same after a while because there really doesn't seem to be much creativity to it. That's what is so cool about your ideas--they have some really good creative thought put into them. Just thinking about it, a live act, to really standout these days, needs to have an enormous amount of creativity. We have gotten so accustomed to music videos in which the camera angle changes at least every 3-5 seconds and they often do a lot of really cool things with lighting. Will you have any creative control over the lighting in your act? Walt

fireflytx 0 #5 August 8, 2005 Thanks That is awesome to know that I have some up with some good ideas! I am downloading that song you mentioned as we speak to check it out. I may have some control over lights.....especially when I wear white. Lots of blacklight! Yeah, I hate mondern Strippers, no artistic ability whatsoever. In the words of an old burlesque performer, Zorita, "strippers now come out nude, are crued and then screw""Well behaved women rarely make history"

waltappel 1 #9 August 8, 2005 Here's a *very* short clip of that song. It's not really all that sexy, but it's very, very sensual. I don't know, there's just something about the song that really makes my imagination go wild. I'd never heard the song before I saw it used as the background music on an episode of the TV show "Fastlane". The episode was called "Dosed" and there was this one segment where one of the main characters was dancing with a really sexy woman and you could just feel the sexual tension between the characters. Occasionally, we all think about how cool life would be if it had really cool background music. If really hot, steamy, intensely sensual sex had background music, for me it would be Hayling. For those of you who would rather have "Funkytown" or something like that as the background music, hell, more power to you, but Hayling is by far and away my choice! edited to add: Damn--after listening to that clip, all I can think of is giving a really sexy woman an hours-long hot oil massage (for starters, anyway!). Looks like I won't be able to focus for a while. edited again to add: Here is a link: http://www.etoile-polaire.com/hafdishuld/fck-hayling.mov The above is not my favorite--they did another video that I have a copy of that is awesome! NWFlyer 2 #12 August 8, 2005 Every time I see this post I get that itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini song in my head. Note that I'm not suggesting you actually use that song (though it could be an amusing contrast to a really sensual dance!)"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
waltappel 1 #13 August 8, 2005 Not that this has anything to do with the thread, but IMO one of the finest examples ever of really great Motown rock is Fire Down Below by Bob Seeger. It's right on up there with Mustang Sally as a GREAT, if somewhat superficial song, that really makes me do the dorky white guy dance around my apartment. Yes, I know the visual on that is really bad, but it's ok--I ONLY do it when nobody is watching! Walt

Now I'm going to have that song going through my head all day! yuk!!!! Of course it could be worse. Years ago I had the theme from "The Beverly Hillbillies" going through my head for 3 unbearable days! Walt
