Where is your dream vacation?

Recommended Posts

Talkeetna, AK. It's about 2hrs north of Anchorage. Pictures can't capture the scenery. It was the most relaxing week of vacation. Took a rafting/fishing trip for three days and camped on the river with some friends. Used plenty of fire crackers in our attempt to keep bears away and of course beer and bonfires. Great Pub called the West Rib where I spent alot of my time too. It helps when you have friends that live up there and work for a river guide service.

A log cabin in the middle of no where with mountains and a lake. Quiet and peaceful. No phones, no TV, no computers. And an SO to spend the time with.
Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Somewhere tropical where your skin glistens with sweat and it's remote so you wear the least amount of clothes possible... like an island.... where you can take off and land a plane and have someone to be able to fly the plane and a sexy man, tons of margaritas and Jimmy Buffet playing in the background or maybe even Kenny Chesney and at night we can sit on the beach in front of the fire, listening to the waves crash on shore underneath the starry sky...

I would like to add that in to my dream vacation....except for the Kenny Chesney part :S;)

the Azores. I lived there as a kid when my dad was in the military. very influential place on my life, sort of where I "became a man" in many ways (probably not in the way some of you are thinking). So I'd like to go back and see what it's like now and show my kids where I grew up.

Just came back from there, the drive to the airport was horrible... Montana is definitley heaven... except for those pesky wild fires a few miles away... days were filled with hiking , fishing , and nights were spent cuddled by the fire (it got flippen cold at night)

However my dream vacation is South Africa... Otter Trail... about 3 miles a day... sighhhhh

somewhere away from civilization no phones, shops bus or train links. with a minimum of 100 odd miles in any direction with nothing but open space and a will to explore:)

sadly this is not my families ideal.

once walked into a camera crew doing a documentary on the cairngorms range while walking :S

Been there a couple of times. Mainly S. Miguel, Faial and Pico. You probably lived on Terceira I guess. Living in the middle of an ocean has it's attractions. I find it peaceful overthere.

My dream vacation? It's weird because I spend most of my time wishing not for two weeks in Maui or things like that. Instead, I daydream about a relaxing three-day weekend at my house having some good barbecue, drinking good beer, playing guitar with some friends and hanging out in my pool with my wife and son.

Vacations are usually just too damned tiring, and I want rest.

My wife is hotter than your wife.
