mouth 0 #9 February 24, 2003 I'm starting to not like these posts. I drove all the way to Raeford and still no jumping. That's ok though since I get to meet some great people with whom I plan to go back and jump with, and I got a replacement helmet for the one I cracked coming back from Eloy. Trevor 0 #10 February 24, 2003 0:0:0 Was supposed to fly to Eloy for the freefly meet. Little jet from raleigh to Dallas couldn't handle enough fuel for bad weather and our checked luggage. I sat next to a "former green beret" who claimed to have done only two jumps in his "career" but they were halo jumps from 36,000 feet opening at 1000ft in the dark over "Poke" air force base at bragg- what a piece of shit. Said he had a bronze star from desert storm, too. We finally got to dallas long after the last flight had left for Pheonix. My luggage had been sent to atlanta. Delta couldn't get me to phoenix until 1pm saturday which would put me at eloy at around 3. I considered heading out to dallas and just jumping the rig I had in my carry on..but the Delta agent said it was going to rain in dallas all weekend, so I cut my losses and had them put me on the next flight to N. Carolina. Saturday, I spent most of the day in DFW waiting on my flight and staring at the clear blue sky- thanks delta!- I got into RDU at 8pm and my bags got in at midnight. Sunday , I hoped to jump at Raeford, but the winds have been unreal. I woke up at 7am to a tree crashing into the apartment next to mine. That was the last message I needed to scrub my plans to jump this weekend. Maybe I'll head over to poke tomorrow and do a couple of 36,000 footers to make up for it. -Trevor

happythoughts 0 #21 February 24, 2003 Partied with friends Friday night. Saturday - Verizon Classic was in Tampa, went with roommate. Sunday - 3 jumps including a sweet 18-way, the third point was spinning 2 9-way loops. They came around fast and on the same level so I put my legs out and did a little vertical over the approaching loop. Very nice.
CanuckInUSA 0 #22 February 24, 2003 0:3:0 Not a bad weekend considering I got three jumps in on Saturday before a snow storm blew into the state. But this marks about five or six weekends in a row that I only could jump one of the two days. And I really yearn for a weekend where I could jump both days. BTW, two of my jumps on Saturday were done as a couple of really fun freefly jumps with a Couch Freaks dude (Marc something or other) who passed through my DZ on his way back to Iowa after a week of skiing here in CO. lawrocket 3 #24 February 24, 2003 Thank you for the clarification, Miss skymama. I never knew what those numbers stood for. However, I request some clarification on the weekend numbers. I understand that the numbers are "humps:jumps:beer." However, there can be some difficulties in these numbers. Some of us like to mix our drinks. Beer is great, but some tequila and bourbon with Dos Equis chasers were consumed. I could provide accurate information re: beer, but not give the whole story re: alcohol. Please advise. Is this a situation wherein the true numbers of drinks consumed should be included in the "hump" category (where the low beer numbers could be explained by adding the "total drinks" numbers, if I can count that high). This runs the risk of eliminating the good "hump" number, or in my usual case, a bad one. --- My wife is hotter than your wife.
CanuckInUSA 0 #25 February 24, 2003 The beer category refers to the number of cases of beer you either bought (for the firsts you did while skydiving) or at the very least the number of cases you owe (and hopefully will buy). It has nothing to do with the number of drinks you consumed. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
