Many companies have a great financial interest in the security of their assets that may come under threat in a war zone. The military sees to the contingencies of war and can't provide special security for the people and or equipment that may be a target. Private Military Companies provide that service at a cost, usually employing ex-military 'security advisors' to put themselves in harms way...without armored, air or artillery backup. It's an interesting 'professional' job with outstanding pay ...as long as you are around to collect it. Which several unfortunately haven't been able to do over there. I'm just happy for Clay, both that he gets to be there, and that he's home safe!
