Seriously, I just got a response from an e-mail where I asked what to put in care packages to send to Marines over in Iraq. Here's the response. I send them trail mix, jerky, packages of dried fruit, nuts, freeze dried meals.....stuff they can take into the field and not have to worry about refrigeration/or melting. There was also a corpsman(medic) that was short of medical stuff so I was making up the shortfall there too.I have also heard that books and magazines might be good to send although I never did send them. Some VFW posts and American Legion posts also have lists of what the guys want and also help out by sending stuff.... Pretty much anything they can use will be greatly appreciated I'm new to this to, so I don't know for sure. Hope this helps. Walt

jumpchikk 0 #11 August 5, 2005 You could put a compilation of songs on a CD for him. OR put pictures to music... I did that once... which was pretty cool...
Hackb431 0 #12 August 5, 2005 Let's see what did I like to get when I was there? Get him reading material on his favorite hobbies. Magazines that are current. Uhhh you could send him the special pringles can. (You can fit two cans O' Beer in an empty pringles can cause the US does not condone drinking but I DO) Letters and pictures from home and friends. If he is a skydiver have all his jump buddies get together and make a "Miss you" sign and take a picture. It sounds lame but it goes alot farther than you think on those nights when everything just sucks and you need a quick "somebody cares about me" fix. Oh almost forgot...nudie pics that are laminated. These won't be real useful until about the second month.HackB A.K.A. "Puppy"
