aprilcat 0 #1 August 1, 2005 This is Niles (or Niles von Dirty). He came to live with me on July 15 after spending 3 weeks with my neighbor, who rescues animals on a regular basis before finding a sucker like me to take them. He was found without tags in the park across the street, surrounded by a gang of ghastly geese who wanted to peck him to death (those THUGS!) I'm totally in love! He's been classified as a Cockerpoo, is about 13 months old and doesn't like big dogs, bicycles, and babycarriages. He loves kitties, getting into things he has no business getting into, me, and urinating on everything in his path (outside). Besides his new name he doesn't understand English but understands the phrase 'wanna go outside?' VERY well. He's been well trained and keeping him on a steady walking schedule has worked out very well for us. He let me take a pair of scissors to him then some clippers and didn't flinch much. He's getting his shots and getting neutered and is a little bundle of love. I couldn't ask for a better pal. He's already shown me loyalty and bravery; I can't imagine anyone tossing out a dog like him. I can't make it to WFFC but I look forward to introducing Niles to your dropzone doggies as soon as possible. I'm not going ANYWHERE without him! Blue skies~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo! aprilcat 0 #5 August 1, 2005 Thanks!!! He's going to get us both killed. There's a pitbull/mastiff that he HATES named 'Rambo'. I was pulling him away and Rambo's owner said "whats your doggies name?" (all he left out was 'little girl' on the end). When I said 'Niles' he turned his head and chuckled, but thats okay. Niles is more cuddly than Rambo and I wouldn't want Rambo climbing on my bed at night . I'm really happy!~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo! Remember 2 things. 1) its got to be the Captain you put the grapefuit juice in and 2) you want to get all your vitamins C & A while you're drinking. Coke doesn't provide the necessary nutrients. If my landlord allowed doggie doors to be drilled into New York City apartments, he'd still never survive the traffic, so I'm stuck waking up at an ungodly hour like a good mommy. What have I learned? Not to wear 'cutesy' sandals on walks, no matter how hot it is. My bones feel like I've been rolled downhill, dragged back up and rolled again. I broke out my blockbuster-sneakers and little anklets, and I'm ready for the second half of our month long relationship--tomorrow will be 3 weeks (stop me from counting please...I sound obsessed!). He's fascinated by everything in the bathroom and destroys our brushes. His is off limits for chewing, but ours has our hair in it so how can he resist?? I moved the brushes and sponges, and found him ontop of the sink ready to jump on the high-shelves!! BAD Niles!!! I put his little plastic bag on his collar while we walk so he can feel he's contributing more than the doo-doos, and this woman remarked 'oh!! look at his little bowtie!'...that sparked all kinds of imagery, so I guess you guys can get ready for a barrage of Niles-in-Boots photos as soon as the hot weather breaks. He's a honey and part of the family and he hasn't gotten a girl pregnant or come home drunk or had bad grades yet. Gotta love him!!~~~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!
