skydive4play 0 #1 February 27, 2001 I recently got a Pro Dytter and put it in my Z1 helmet. It is very uncomfortable. Is this normal or should I have the unit pushed forward towards the face shield? And what mode is best, where you have to turn it off, or it turns off on it's own?IF YOU ARE NOT LIVINGON THE EDGE, YOUR TAKINGUP TOO MUCH #%*^*%$ SPACE!,MarkC-31221
Grogs 0 #2 February 27, 2001 How tight is your Z1? I've got a ditter in my Z1 in the pocket, and I don't even notice it.As for the mode, they come from the factory in the power save mode, which shuts itself off after about 12 hours or so, but I set mine to the always on setting. I think the increase in battery drain is worth it if it means I won't have to take it out and turn it one every day when I start jumping (which I'd probably forget). skybytch 273 #3 February 27, 2001 I've never jumped a Z1, but I know that any audible in the pocket of a frap hat hurt my ear really bad. Which is part of the reason I like my Aviator freefly helmet so much - external audible mount! ;-)lisa
Dutchboy 0 #4 February 27, 2001 Mine is a bit tight. I definitely notice that it is there, but my Z1 is tight in general. I wouldn't say that it is uncomfortable.I have mine in the power save mode. Only time that was a problem was when I stayed at the DZ all weekend and went to jump on Sunday. It only remembered that I had turned it off when we hit 1k. Of course, I foolishly turned it on and then it was 1k too high.
AndyMan 7 #5 February 27, 2001 Try positioning the ditter so that it is positioned right over your ear.I've found they tend to migrate forward, and that really hurts.
Tee 0 #6 February 27, 2001 I was spoiled rotten lately and my sweetie bought me a prodytter too. I wear my helmet a little big so that I can fit my glasses under it on those "red-eyed, I've been up too late at the fire" mornings where contacts just won't do. With the helmet a tad bigger, I barely know it is there. (except when it goes off!) YIKES!
dove 0 #7 February 27, 2001 Mark,I wear a fairly cozu Z1 and I don't feel my dytter or pro-track at all. Maybe you could get a different liner - it could be a little too tight. I keep my alti in power save mode so it turns off automatically - just like my Cypres. That way I won't show up at the DZ with dead batteries! Cheers!Elisa
Amazon 7 #8 August 5, 2005 Turn the Pro Dytter around in the pocket so the flat side is against your ear.. and the screen side points out... you can also remove some of the padding behind the dytter on the helmet side.... the curved screen side fits better into the curve of the helmet. Thread necromancing yet again.
