What Should I Do?

Recommended Posts

Well, after 5 1/2 years, I am in the final hours at my current place of employment.

I need help deciding on what to do tonight in honor of this momentous occasion. What do YOU think I should do?

Well....what do you feeeeeeel like doing?:D

I wouldn't say get drunk..perhaps have a God Bless America toast as a farewell...

I wouldn't say cry, because you're leaving for a good reason..perhaps it'll be bittersweet..so WTH..shed a tear:D

I'm with you, RkyMtnHigh. Here's my reasoning. One of the worst things about work is that it tends to interfere with whatever it is that you WANT to be doing.

When you are not working, do whatever you WANT to do and enjoy your lowered stress levels!

Can't decide. Lately, I've been moody and cry easily and a lot. I don't drink much, but if I went out, I'd drink. But I don't drink and drive.

Staying home alone drinking and crying is undoubtedly a very BAD idea.

Been staying up late at night/morning on line. I COULD sleep, but I always claim sleep is highly overrated. ;) Besides, I've messed up my sleeping pattern so badly, I'd bet that I couldn't sleep more than an hour or so at one time anyway.

Yeah, I'm undecided. I don't make decisions well. :S

Well then...if ya had a "jump to conclusions" mat..that might help you make decisions.:D George Washington theory works for me: pros/cons on each side of the paper and whichever is more heavily weighted, then I decide to go with that one.

Hmmm...I like to play poker, but there are no games tonight. [:/]

I don't lead a very exciting life, do I? ;)

LOL :D

In that case, I wouldn't even have to bother to steal it. Why wait? I think there's a bat somewhere here in the building! ;)

First, I bawled my eyes out.

Secondly, I called Turtle and Bubbles and cried on THEIR shoulders.

Third, I tried to drown my sorrows in a bowl of chocolate/brownie ice cream. I'm thinking of a second bowl.

Hmmm....What to do next? Do you think alcohol mixes well with ice cream?

I'll chime in.

No, I do not think Alcohol and ice cream mix. I have never personally mixed them but I do not reccommend it. :D

Since I am out of the loop why did you leave the job?

But...but...but...they make fru-fru drinks with ice cream and alcohol mixed. I just have to be careful what KIND of alcohol I consume!

I left my job because I had gotten to the point that I hated it. I wasn't making any money. And I'm moving to Texas for a chance at happiness.

I'm just sad because it's hard to walk away from that many years, and that many memories...and not be A LITTLE sad about it.

I'll waller in my pity party tonight and be all better by morning (unless I have a hangover or sick from mixing that alcohol and ice cream together. :P)

LOL. I hear ya.

I have been in the military so long that when I move it is never a big deal. I do not get attached to where I am.

Although I would never give up my Florida residency. I have moved more than I care to count.

I wish you great prosperity on your new adventure. :)

It's times like this when buying a short person a bottle of tequila just makes you feel better.

I recommend doing that. It's supposed to REALLY make you feel damned good if the short person in question happens to be a skydiving JACKASS. I highly recommend finding one of those sorts and buying him a bottle of Patron.

Or you could just drink some tequila yourself and be done with it.

sorry I missed this before you left, but you should have "borrowed" a nice car for a joy ride on your last day. Seen the sights and left it in a parking lot with the keys in it and say you got lost and don't know hwere it is. :S:D

OK, so that isn't the best idea either but you gotta admit the thought of YOU doing anything like that is funny.:D

What ARE you trying to say here? ;) I DO still have one of their cars this morning.

Funny story, though. At a different dealership I worked at years ago, one of the guys took his demo to "cracktown" downtown and traded it for drugs. Came back and said he got carjacked and didn't know where it was. The police found it....and the person squealed...obviously the dealership pressed charges. :S

Just for feedback - when I was downsized out of my job of 6 years, I just walked away, right out the door. some people cried & said by to their friends, I'd packed my stuff up & brought it home a few days earlier, so about 30 min early, I got up, turned off my computer & walked away never turning back.

then i went to a big fat all you can eat crab dinner w/ my friends & drank a bottle of my fav pinot, then I slept till noon the next day, got up & went jumping for 4 days straight.

There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear.

I missed this post. [:/] I just have one question... Did you stand at the door on your way out and salute "Heil James, Mein Fuhrer!"? :D

Hell, I almost did that to my ex-supervisor last week, but decided against it, since I didn't want to alienate the rest of the department's management, as he was the only bad apple in there. I did rip his ass big time in one last email to the department's manager though, who I know doesn't like him. :P
