Lainey 0 #27 July 27, 2005 Yes, I am still illogically afraid of heights I guess, especially stupid heights like 10metres up a wall with a rope and harness securing me, i'm still afraid. I'm trying to beat it though by making myself more accustomed to heights, working through my fear, hopefully i'll be able to kick it one day. Skydiving has helped to an extent, but i still get sweaty palms and that dizzy feeling looking down from lowish heights. RkyMtnHigh 0 #28 July 27, 2005 QuoteYES! I freak out with heights and rollercoasters Its weird how many ppl who say they wont skydive because of their fear of heights...its not the same..because we don't have a fixed object as a reference and it's not a falling, sinking feeling...its more of a floating feeling IMO _________________________________________
brothermuff65 0 #29 July 27, 2005 yep i don,t like roofs or ladders or looking out of high building windows or anything like that and when i walk out on the bridge in the evening on occasions to bring in the ramp if i don,t have on my base rig i tend to stay a lot closer to the traffic barrier then i do to the rail ( even after climbing over and jumping earlier in the day) . its just different when i have my rig on .till later have fun & love each other seeya mb65johnny gates
feuergnom 29 #30 July 27, 2005 i started skydiving because i am afraid of heights. i figured it would get better. well for the part of leaving the plane - YES! but i still feel very uncomfortable when i am hiking and i'm close to an edge of a cliff or something like that, especially if there is nothing i can take at least a hold The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver #

Ravan 0 #32 July 27, 2005 Thanks for starting this post KS, here I thought I was the only one being insane enough to skydive and be afraid of heights it's the reason I did my first jump, to face that fear. Food, Fornication, Freefall

skydiverbry 0 #34 July 27, 2005 I seem to be afraid of heights but not altitude,if that makes sense. If I have areference point to the ground, like i'm on a roof i gett more then alittle nervous, but when I jump it didn't bother me until I got close to the ground or something to give me an idea how far up i was.
