NWFlyer 2 #11 July 22, 2005 Skydiving-wise? I'm afraid of becoming complacent. In general? I have a tough time putting my heart on the line. Getting better at it, though."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. VanillaSkyGirl 6 #12 July 22, 2005 I'm scared of having either my body and/or mind give out on me and needing someone to take care of me because I cannot physically, nor mentally take care of myself. Just writing that was difficult.
swoopdog 0 #13 July 22, 2005 if my mind or body gives out on me chuck me out a plane with out a rig. It would be hell to be completely useless and ruin my families lives in the mean time. Life is about having fun - not a vegetable. The only thing that scares me about skydiving is the off chance that it will become illegal or I am physically unable to!!! The only thing that scares me in life is being illegal or physically unable to!!!! If your going to live in FEAR, why live at all!!!!!

Sharks don't "scare" me.... but I do have a healthy respect fot the distance that I want between them and me. Them and gators.... I was not amused when I had heard there was a gator in the swoop pond at Z-Hills. Yet another reason not to swoop yet. Oh .... and rats. I remember when I was little once, watching the hulk. He was thrown into a dumpster and there were rats that started biting him... so he hulked out. I figured if the hulk was scared of rats, guess I was too. Skydiving related... My fear is doing something to hurt someone. I guard against that and sometimes that makes me more tense than I should be. I also fear not enjoying life..... I have never had to land in the plane. I have always wanted to go down with the pilot just to try the whole dive, zero-g turn thing, but jumping out of the plane is still much better I am sure!! I am afraid of heights in a weird way. I was supposed to do a hot air balloon jump @ Skyfest last week (the weather ended up being shitty) but thinking about jumping out of the balloon got me in a panic. Bridge Day does a toll on me too. Just writing that was difficult. I am a nursing home/assisted living administrator. Know this if something happens, you can come to my place and rest assured, I will see to it that you are well taken care of. But seriously, by working in this industry, I have learned how I WONT die and living a life in which I lose my physical and mental functioning in a NH is just that. That is why I will skydive until I die... OR Jack Kevorkian better become legal- assisted suicide is becoming legal in some states- Oregon I believe thus far. I have had a few residents that have killed themselves. Of course it is sad, but I toally respect the fact that they have done this.Blue skies and SAFE landings! ~Amanda~
