Anvilbrother 0 #4 July 7, 2005 Is it that beer makes you drink more, or the reaction? I would think that when liquid hits your stomach before it gets to the intestine it just mixes. nanook 1 #7 July 8, 2005 I regularly swap out drinks through the night. Start out with a Jack-coke then beer then jack ect ect. Couple times I might throw in some wine(usually a chardonnay). Never realy screwed me up, but i've been drinking that way since I was in college._____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
freelyflyn71 0 #8 July 8, 2005 I always thought it was possibly the syrup in mixed drinks such as Jack 'n Coke and the beer reacting in some way... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.

mnealtx 0 #11 July 8, 2005 If you're drinking hard liquor, you'll have less chance of getting sick with drinks like whisky and water than with drinks like rum and coke. Something about the sugar in the mixer. Now, for not getting sick AFTER... here's what I do... Get home and eat something *light*... drink as much water as I can hold and take a couple aspirin. Then, every time I get up to pee, tank back up on water and another aspirin. That usually cuts out the worst of the hangover. The alcohol dehydrates you, and you need the water to re-hydrate. Oh yeah, and if I think I'm gonna be sick (and let's face it, you can tell), I force it and get the rest of the alcohol out of my system...then do the water/aspirin thing...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. StreetScooby 5 #13 July 8, 2005 I've heard the issue is trying to drink hard stuff like beer... Can't keep the same pace with alcohol as beer.We are all engines of karma
droquette 0 #14 July 8, 2005 i think its true.. i try to hold to the liquor first then beer.. it works out well for me since beer is cheaper and by the end of the night my pocket goes light.. and beer is the call.. I personally drink a ton of H2O before I go to bed and eat BREAD which soaks up the alcohol.. thats what i have been told at least... I think the H2O is by far the best solution to the dehydration exagerated alcohol consumption brings.. happy drinking and blue skies.... but not together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Superman32 0 #15 July 8, 2005 That crap doesn't work for me. I switch with no problems. Hey Mnealtx, becareful with the aspirin, I've read studies saying that aspirin, tylenol, etc when mixed with alcohol can lead to some liver damage. Water is great and puking when you have to is essential to keep the hangover away Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!
