BikerBabe 0 #1 July 7, 2005 Many of you who know me know how much I love my dogs, especially my first dog, Leo. He is as close to a child that I have and a huge part of my family. He's a quirky, grumpy old man chow chow that I love with all of my heart. Here he is a few years ago: http://www.themcnews.com/Leo2.jpg He got out of our yard last night and is now nowhere to be found. The worst part is that he also managed to get out of his collar which had all of his licensing and info on it. I am heartbroken. Leo has been with me sinnce I graduated from college, and while I know that doggies don't live forever, I expected him to be with me for at least a few more years. Please don't say "it's just a dog" because it's much more than that. Just please keep him and me in your thoughts for a while, and pray that I can find him. eeneR 3 #4 July 7, 2005 Man that is the worst. Im so sorry to hear this. Just something you may want to consider when you get him back...get him microchipped. I have both of my dogs chipped, and that code can get them back to you... It's cheap too, for the base service, like $30 to put it in and nothing after that. This works as long as the vet who puts it in knows how to get ahold of you (the chip leads them to the vet who should have a record of which animal that chip went in and can thereby get ahold of you). For a higher fee, the microchip company will keep track of your contact information and get ahold of you directly. I've microchipped the last 4 animals I've gotten (2 cats, 2 dogs). I can't think of any reason not to. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
tigra 0 #7 July 7, 2005 I remember when I was in high school and our collie got out. She ended up at a college campus several miles away. We were new to the area and we think she was looking for the right sized "kids". I hope your baby is home soon!

soulshine 0 #9 July 7, 2005 QuoteThe best thing you can do now is put out fliers! The sooner the better if you have not done so yet. My brother's Husky "got out" of their yard. He put up fliers and offered a large reward. Someone called to say they had the dog. Ironically it was a breeder that called and she had her belly shaved to see if she had already been fixed. Our guess is that they called for the reward since they coudn't use her for breeding. Posters and a reward are the way to go if you think your dog has been taken and not just out and about exploring. Again, good luck. Keep us updated. Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity! ~DEVIOUS BEEF~~FGF #69~
gemini 0 #10 July 7, 2005 Sorry. Hope you find your dog. Trent had a half chow half shepard who was terrified of lighting and thunder. Over the years she escaped the yard a few times and we were called when she was found miles away. Check with the pound and SPCA frequently. They get so many animals they might not remember you are looking. Blue skies, Jim
Thunderbow 1 #11 July 7, 2005 Good luck finding him. My dogs have gotten out a couple of times and I go nuts looking for them. We've been fortunate enough to get them back. Have faith you probably will get him back too. Check the local dog pound. That is a logical place since he doesn't have a collar.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lord, let me be the person my dog thinks I am.

brits17 0 #13 July 7, 2005 Oooh girl, I understand how you feel. My dog had escaped twice... and came back both times, once after several days. He had his fun running around and then decided he was tired of it and showed back up on the doorstep. Hopefully if you've had Leo a while, he's got his wits about him and knows where home is. *sending homeward bound vibes* _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
Snowwhite 0 #14 July 7, 2005 My daughters dog "tandem" got out about a month ago. We searched all day til very dark. My 4 year old grandson was heartbroken, and didn't want to go to bed til Tandem came home. Next day, we had to spring her from doggie jail. Funny thing is, she had never left the yard in 5 years, but that day she took off. Who knows what motivates them. Just really glad to have her back!skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

ifall 0 #17 July 7, 2005 If it helps at all, I lost my dog 2 summers ago in a 2,000 acre wooded park. He ran off when someone lit some LOUD fireworks nearby. We searched and searched everywhere. Put up flyers with his picture. Checked at all the animal shelters. Nothing. Bad thing is he was abused and afraid of people other than my family and friends. Well to make a long story short, exactly one week later almost to the same exact time he came strolling up to the exact same place he ran from. We camped out there hoping he'd here or smell us. I haven't been happier in a long time. I usually don't do the vibes thing but this time I will definitely make an exception <<<>>> Coming your way. I really really hope you find him. BikerBabe 0 #23 July 8, 2005 well, I had one person call who thinks they saw Leo running around, but when I went over to that area, I couldn't find him. I just hope he doesn't get hit by a car, since where the reported sighting was is not very close to my house and across one of the busiest streets in LA. But it does give me hope that he's out there! I almost hope he gets picked up by animal control, since I know he'll be safe in the pound instead of out running around.Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
