i'd say fake, but if real its a fine example of a complete pansy who'd be dead without the firearm he bought in wal-mart...>:(

I was thinking the same thing. What a waste of a life (both the poor moose and the hillbilly with the gun :D)

Pictures like that just frustrate me.

true, he's probably not going to eat one bite of the thing, although it would feed me, my wife, and our four kids for.... frickin ever. Although I don't think it'd taste very good...

I personally don't think it's real. But imagine hitting THAT w/ your car. F^ck.

I'd say real. Also, I have heard that moose does not taste too bad at all. I personally hunt and prefer venison...and not a bit of meat gets wasted! Plus, in my area, the population does need controlled.

not having eaten much meat I didn't hunt down at Kroger, is it a myth then that the bigger the game the "gamier" it tastes? My first venison exp. was aweful, but the last time I ate it, it was indestinguishable from beef, being as it was in a casserole (sp).

Why a waste? If you don't like hunting , then don't do it.

But if people like it, let them.

Think of all the fossil fules we "waste" to skydive.

yes it is a myth. the fat gives it the gamey taste.
you can shoot the biggest fucking moose on the planet but if its prepared correctly you won't get the gamey taste at all.you gotta get ALL of the fat off before you cook it

Kepp this to the PS or no debate.

I detached the thread taking about how this guy is an asshole or not into SC.

I don't think the photo is photoshopped. I think this is another example of the way the photo was taken. Much like the russion precision pilot pics yesterday or some of the blue angle photos we have seen posted here.;) It is a well known trick to make your fish look bigger in pics to hold it out in front of your body:D You can do the same with a deer. It is a little tougher to do that with a moose though so the hunter just positioned himself as far away from the camera as possible.B|

Remster: Damn you i had to post in SC to argue my point.

Figures you would be involved in a post about a moose, or was that Skreamer?:P:P:D

Two things:

1) The huge size is probably just the perspective, with the hunter posing waaaay in back. Fishermen do the same thing, holding their catch way out in front of them in the camera lens, making it look huge relative to their body in the background.

2) Something isn't right about those antlers. It looks like they cut-and-paste some of the tines to create new ones where they shouldn't be. Notice how they appear out of nowhere, and you can't see any attachment point to the base plate. I think those are fake.

It's all in the processing and the dage and diet of the critters. If processed properly, venison can be free of any game taste. Personally, I tried Elk once, and it was among the mildest, best tasting meat I've ever tried. I eat venison on a regular basis, and find some cuts superior to their beef counterparts, others inferior.

Of course when Joe Bob Hunter drives 2hrs to a check in station with an improperly cleaned deer drped over the hood of his car, It might be a good idea to avoid the summer sausage he tries to give away at work.

I haven't hunted for many years, but know people who hunt successfully on a frequent regular basis, so we end up with a lot of meat. It's healthier, and not pumped full of hormones and such.

Last warning before I lock this thread: if you want to make a point about how humane or inhumane hunting is, go in Speakers Corner.

EDIT: by the way Chris, the warning wasnt meant for you... you were just the last poster after I removed a few posts.
