Derekbox 0 #26 June 27, 2005 5:10:0 I did fly 9 hours in a Grumman from Orlando to Jersey (with my boy Steve), did 7 jumps at CrossKeys. Airlined back and did 3 more in Lake Wales. What a freakin awesome weekend.... Derek

chopchop 0 #28 June 27, 2005 :7:0 Slooowwww weekend at Byron with the boogie going on at Davis.. Seemed even the tandems sensed it as there were vew of those as well.. So, I only got in 7 jumps.. 6 tandem vids, 1 freefly.. Had another cutaway first jump on Saturday.. Hopefully I have figured out the problem as it is a little annoying.. what with having to recover the gear, pay for a repack and all.. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. skybytch 273 #29 June 27, 2005 :7:0 The American Boogie was a blast. Saw lots of friends, drank excellent beer, ate excellent food, jumped cool airplanes. I did three two way freefly jumps with my personal skydiving coach. Also did four RW jumps with Roger Ponce - a 22 way attempt, a 4 or 5 point 8 way, a 4 point 10 way and a 4 point 16 way. Good stuff!
CanuckInUSA 0 #30 June 27, 2005 :3:0 I didn't do very many jumps this weekend. On Saturday I helped teach an AFF class towards obtaining my own coach rating and then once the course was over I did a fun three way freefly, opened into a nasty diving line twisting mal and chopped my velo and popped my reserve. Then I made two fun jumps today (on borrowed gear) with "Buried" here on DZ.COM who was in town visiting his cousin. nanook 1 #40 June 27, 2005 Yup, another chop. this is getting annoying. This was a result of a "jerry pack". The last two were packing errors too. Think it's time to learn how to pack again. And will see you sunday_____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
windcatcher 0 #41 June 27, 2005 :9:tons!!! : Got to meet a few dz.commers at the American boogie and give one em a piggyback ride, which I REALLY enjoyed Made a few solos, demoed a Pilot 168, got a cool rodeo in, which I should have sat up more while riding my "horse", and some interesting funneled 2 and 3 ways. My favorite jump, other than the rodeo, was definitely exiting the helicopter!! I am gonna LOVE jumping a hot air balloon, and doing my first BASE jump a ways down the road owed for: First casa jump First helicopter jump First rodeo First demo First boogie Met some really cool and interesting people at Skydance, hope to make it back some time. Icon134 0 #44 June 27, 2005 as if :9:1 Left work early friday (around lunchtime...) got three jumps in friday and 6 on saturday... including a fun yet chilly HAHO and several RW jumps. I ended up keeping the original promise I had made and didn't make it out to Cullman this weekend... sorry I didn't see any of you this weekend.. I left early on Sunday because after a plane ride we found that the celling was only around 2000 ft... which is too close to the ground for my tastes. thesaint 0 #46 June 27, 2005 : 4: 1 I had a great day on Sunday. I bought some new pants "tracking pants" they work great but besides that it was just a fun day of jumping. I had my first run out landing. In fact three were run outs, I guess my ankle is really getting better after the brake last season. Anyway my last jump was GREAT. Did a 2 way swoop and dock it was awesome then we just kept flipping and docking. I guess that might sound boring to some but when you are in my position and just getting off student status it's great to see another jumper in the air. Landed DEAD center of the pea pit, great ending to a great day. Come jump at Skydive Orange!!!!!!! "If a thousand people agree on a dumb ideal, it's STILL a dumb ideal." craichead 0 #49 June 27, 2005 :4:1 Only four jumps...three done on Saturday at the 8th Annual Skydiving for MS Boogie at Chicagoland Skydiving Center. We ended up raising over $15,000!!! AndyMan and I won some nifty prizes at the raffle--dinner for two at Outback Steakhouse, $50 gift certificate for Paragear, and here's the big one...one night in the Sybaris Swimming Pool Suite! We totally dig the headboard mirror and mirrors on the ceiling! And the "mood lighting" above and below the bed is just so...porno! Only one jump on Sunday...would've done more if it hadn't been so damn hot! Jumped my own rig for the first time! About a year and a half ago, I bought a new Mirage G3, a new Sabre2 190, and a new Cypres2 (and a Tempo 210 reserve was handed down from AndyMan)...never got to jump them until now because of my shoulder injury/surgery. Hmm...so do I owe a case of beer for each new piece of gear, or can I claim that I owe just one for the whole rig assembly? WatchYourStep 0 #50 June 27, 2005 1:1 1 on Saturday which was a blast. The winds didn't co-op very much so I was happy with just getting one up. Practiced forward movement which went well for the most part. On Sunday I was up on the first load and I'm glad I made it because after that the winds picked up for the rest of the day. I also had my first solo unassisted exit, which went well. I worked on backloops which was interesting to say the least, but I know I can become stable from a few different positions now Only 120 hours until next weekend. I've now moved on the coached jumps in my student training. "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience.
