sovietskee 0 #1 November 5, 2008 Does anyone know if the deployment altitude on the Viso altimeter shows when the canopy is fully open or when the skydiver first starts to slow down during the deployment. I checked the manual but it doen't say anything. Also same question for protrack. thanks

sovietskee 0 #3 November 6, 2008 so there is no concrete answer? Its somewhere in between pitch and fully open. That is sort of what I thought. I guess these gadgets can't be super accurate. Thanks.
phoenixlpr 0 #4 November 6, 2008 How about checking your altimeter when you got your slider down? Does it really matter? How was it before? Checking you exit altitude from an analog altimeter, than quessing your delay?
sovietskee 0 #5 November 6, 2008 It really doesn't matter. From my experience it looks like it records when I'm fully open. I had gotten into a debate with someone at the dz who was saying that it records when you first start to slow down. I figured someone on dz.com would know the truth. Just curiosity. TheCapt 7 #6 November 14, 2008 I exchanged some emails with Mads Larsen regarding what event records my deployment altitude on my Alti-track. He wrote back advising, "when you first begin to slow down." Logically, that would occur at onset of line stretch. I assume the same algorythm is used for the VISO, but that is just an assumption.
