bisqit999 0 #1 June 21, 2005 I suck at cover letters to begin with but my question is this.....I'm trying to move out of state and would like to set up some interviews. The only problem is that a lot of places look for local candidates only. Is there a good way to make it clear to them in my cover letter that i will be moving there right away and I would not need relocation assistance? Anyone else try to set up a job out of state before moving there? Any suggestions would be great!
foxyroxtail 0 #2 June 21, 2005 You can either have your "relocating effective XYZ date" in your letter, or: if it's gonna be a few or several weeks, visit the new place, get a PO box, and have it forwarded to you at your existing location. Go change your cell phone so it's local to your new area. Request 2 days or whatever notice for interviews. The address makes it appear you live there, and most people will call or email anyway. Those are my "former recruiter" tips, anyway! Good luck!! ________________________________________
bisqit999 0 #3 June 21, 2005 thanks for the advice....I already have a local address I could use but what should I put on my resume about my current job which is far from local. They'll see that I currently work 2600 miles away.
