freeflir29 0 #1 June 21, 2005 And haven't had any sun except for the farmer's tan in years. DON'T stay out for 40 minutes on the first day. Yes...........I am a dumbass. I did 40-50 minutes on the front side and 30-40 on the back. I'm not in bad pain but it is uncomfortable. I'm ecstatic that I shouldn't need to put my body armor on today. I can't expose my lovely ivory skin to any more than 5 minutes at a time in a tanning bed. I think a middle east tour is out of the question... 40 minutes at that latitude...geesh...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. popsjumper 2 #8 June 21, 2005 4 posts before a sunburn thread turned into a sex thread... Too bad you don't have an aloe plant....fresh, out-of-the-leaf juice works wonders. I would suggest your nearest Pike's nursery... My guess would be that if anyone sent you one, it would be confiscated as a drug shipment...My reality and yours are quite different. You say you aren't in pain yet, but I can feel your pain already I normally tan easily, but laid out for 90 minutes (no prior sun) here in Ohio with no sunscreen and defnitely felt the effects. Nearly 2 weeks later and I am still peeling! Could hardly get by wearing a bra, but trying to put on all that gear you pry have to wear- yikes, you will be on fire- good luck!Blue skies and SAFE landings! ~Amanda~
swedishcelt 0 #10 June 21, 2005 I never burn. Being 1/4 Cherokee has it's advantages. Lobster-boy!!!!
happythoughts 0 #11 June 21, 2005 I had a summer job in college renting sailboats. I would meet people from Canada (Land of the Pasty Flesh) who were "only going to be in Florida for a week and needed their tan completed today". People continue to toast long after they leave the sun. If a person waits until they are lobster red before leaving the sun, they will be suffering later. It was really difficult to get people to believe that 3 hours was way too much the first day. "You live here? I can ask you... Oh wait, that's not what I wanted to hear... never mind..." freeflir29 0 #14 June 21, 2005 Quoteoh wait, there are no sheep over there - unless you brought them with the vaseline Oh there are SHIT LOADS in this area of the country. I was in amazement the other day. I was hauling ass down a divided 4 lane road and there was a sheep herder in the median........WITH all his sheep. Somehow they are able to herd them really well. He was holding them back out of the traffic somehow. They were just in a big group standing there.......I guess waiting on his signal to cross. It was nuts!
