slug 1 #82 June 12, 2005 Quote182's! Hooray for the 182 DZ's out there! -Karen Hi K We taught each other how to do RW out of 180/182's from 7.5k at $3.50. Back in the day everone wanted to swoop, no launching pieces. The person spotting would sit on his butt, call cut! and leave everyone else had to run on the knee's to get out the door ASAP. Person spotting laid base, last three out got to chase and swoop. Eventually it got easier and easier to do a surprise exit and have plenty of time for a 4 way. IMO more educational than launcing the first piece and turning pt's. Small DZ's with small planes have their own culture. Not better or worse than the Big DZ's just different.I won't say which one I liked better. R.I.P.
Meux 0 #83 June 12, 2005 My first jump was a static line from a C-182 in 1975. I took a couple years off and did my AFF from a King Air in 2004.

vt1977 0 #93 June 12, 2005 I did all my static line training and progression from two very old and very slow piston Islanders! Jumped a Porter (my first turbine) on about jump 70, then a Beaver on about jump 110. Lots of Turbolet jumps from 200 onwards. Didn't jump an Otter, skyvan or Casa until 400+. First Cessna jump was at 500+ - and that was a Grand caravan! First "small" Cessna jump - a 206 - was on jump 900+! Vicki
