Crown Royal

Recommended Posts

My neighbor just gave me a big bottle of Crown Royal for putting his boat in. What a bargain. The bottle seal is dated 1982.
He got me to switch to Crown Royal last year by saying you won't get a head ache /hangover from it.
So .... how good/valauable is a 22 year old bottle of this stuff ? Does age matter that much ?
Yes i mix it with low carb Monster for the perfect buzz.
On the rocks, or what should it be mixed with ?

i just asked our resident expert on crown royal and he said that as long as it was stored in a dark place, it will improve in flavour and aroma. something about the tannin it absorbs form the oak barrels it is aged in (similar to aging red wine).

as far as mixing it, don't. you have a very nice bottle, sip it on the rocks. when you start to get wobbly, switch to something cheap and save the good stuff for later when you can appreciate it. B|

Jack+Coke=Hangover

There's nothing quite like a Jack + Coke hangover, the pounding head, the dry mouth, the feeling of being really, really dehydrated and run down... the only thing worse is a Jack + Ecstacy hangover :P:D

My drink of choice is Jack and diet coke. :)

Really? I had no idea sugar would do that. Plus diet coke has more caffeine so you prolly stay up longer too.

I usually drink mine on the rocks.

BTW, sorry for the hiJACK Cocheese. hehehehe

this is from crownroyal.com in the FAQ section.

13. I have kept an unopened bottle of Crown Royal whisky for many years. Is it still acceptable to drink, and does the taste of Crown Royal get better with age?

Under normal storage conditions, whisky will maintain its original quality and taste for several years, although over a long period of time its taste may change very slightly. The aging process of whisky occurs in the barrel, before it's blended and bottled. In fact, Crown Royal whisky is at its peak flavor when it's first bottled.

I love Crown + Amaretto + Cranberry Juice. I think it's called a Red Lobster, or something like that. I've gotten seriously drunk on that...oh, the memories!

I was replying to a few different posts but mainly this one

" It is not the alcohol that really gives you a hangover it is what you mix it with.

Example...

Jack+Coke=Hangover

Jack on Rocks=No Hangover

Unless you drink the whole bottle and then really you are just still drunk not hungover. "
