Frenchy68 0 #3 June 8, 2005 You probably need to reboot the battery. It happened to me before. I don't remember which button(s) you need to hold down for few seconds. Go on the Apple website and do a search for it. You have to hold down the Menu button and the Select button together for about 6 seconds. Weird. I guess it's so common that they had a little movie on their website about how to fix it. Guess I should have looked their first.

They must have a lot of trust in the intelligence of their customers if they think a MOVIE is necessary to show how to press 2 buttons at the same time. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

A little birdie told me that June 24-26 is going to be a kickass party with TJ organizing. Keep your fingers crossed that I find a cheap flight. Derekbox 0 #13 June 8, 2005 Mine takes a shit all the time. Its the battery, there is an area of low battery charge where the IPOD will still run, but not low enough to shut off, where itll poop out. It never happens on a full charge. If you have one of the first 3 generations of IPOD get the battery replaced free (pending lawsuit approval -- which looks like it will happen). Woot. ltdiver 3 #14 June 8, 2005 Quotebatteries? Actually, I just got a letter for a Class Action lawsuit against Apple and their faulty batteries. I have a 3rd Generation iPod. If the battery has gone bad, Apple will replace it or repair it, no charge (if they win). For a 3rd Generation iPod, if my battery will not hold a charge and play for a minimum of 4 hours (continuous playing), then my unit qualifies for the lawsuit. A 1st or 2nd Generation iPod has to pass the 5 hour test, or they will qualify as well. Time for a test run.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Mine is definitely one of the newest ones and it shits on me all the time. Infact it just turned off (on a full battery) during the first hour of a 5 hour plane flight this weekend and hasn't turned back on since.. I've almost thrown it out the car window on several occassions..... Guess I should check the website first. Thanks for the thread, I've been going mad with this
wildblue 7 #16 June 8, 2005 First Generation iPod: First Generation iPods (iPod) are white and have a mechanical scroll wheel that physically turns and a Firewire port with no cover. Second Generation iPod: Second Generation iPods (iPod Touchwheel) are white and have a touchwheel that does not physically turn and a Firewire port with a cover. Third Generation iPod: Third Generation iPods (iPod with Dock Connector) are white and have a touchwheel that does not physically turn, a horizontal row of control buttons, and a dock connector.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

Apparently the batteries dont last more than 3 years...so they've created this new "battery exchange program" which is more like an IPOD exchange program!! good luck, eithery way, Apple store will take care of you!!
