Apparently he was a very successful businessman in his late 20's, early 30's but then sold it all (a restaurant, etc.,) to train and compete full-time. A life quest thing. Anyway, the cat's knocked out his last couple of opponents. I've never seem him in action, but his bio paints him as seriously determined. You're always the starter in your own life! After getting a room at the Showboat, some buds and I were kickin' back some Coronas at the Hard Rock Cafe when, whatdayaknow--there's Randy Couture (former champ in 2 weight classes) having dinner with what we later learned was one of his sponsors. Had I known that I probably wouldn't have picked up the tab, but it was cool. At Evo (another restaurant bar) next to the BDwalk Hall Convention center, I saw most of the fighters on their way to the venue and shook Matt Serra's hand. After the event we partied til 6 a.m. (Kasbah in Trump's Taj Mahal) and ran into Randy again and partied with some womenly friends. Later, fighter Shonie Carter showed up. That was surprising considering he practically got knocked out just a few hours before. Needless to say, my buddy Bill dropped the camera off at CVS to be developed and they blacked out all the nudity pics. I told him he should have said these were authentic National Geographic photographs of wild partying--human nature in the wild. A few are displayed here for your viewing pleasure.
