skymama 37 #1 June 7, 2005 I have enough time to see one play while I'm in London in a few weeks. Any recommendations on what I should see? Has anyone seen the Queen play? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Ashtanga 0 #2 June 7, 2005 Queen looks good. There is always Phantom and Les Miserables that are guaranteed good shows if you haven't seen them.
caz 0 #3 June 7, 2005 not too hot on the London plays I'm afraid, but if you're around in town on the 23rd you're more than welcome to join us on our monthly drinking session or let us know when you're about and I'm sure a bunch of us will get together to show you a good night out. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
Ripple 0 #4 June 7, 2005 I'd definately recommend Billy Elliot. Went to see Les Mis again the other week, was really disappointed, not nearly as good as the first time I saw it.Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes
CornishChris 5 #5 June 7, 2005 by 'play' I assume you mean West End Musical. I am a big 'Les Miserables' fan and 'Phantom' is also good. 'We Will Rock You' is supposed to be good as are a number of the others with Mel Brooks 'Producers' meant to be awesome. You could however go and see a play. Brian Denehy is playing in 'Death of a Salesman' at the mo. Patrick Stewart is in 'A Life in the Theatre' and there are a few others out there too. Lots to choose from. CJP Gods don't kill people. I know there's some kind of line you go to in order to get cheaper tickets on the day of the show. Will tickets be available for all of those shows, or how do you find out what they're selling cheap that day?She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
CornishChris 5 #7 June 7, 2005 Not sure to be honest as I have always booked in advance. There is a place in Leicester Square (near tube), where you can queue for tickets that day. You may even be able to turn up at the box office of the theatre and buy them - a little exploring may be in order. On http://www.londontheatrebookings.co.uk/ there is an option to book for the day of the show - if you compare prices you can get some reasonable deals. Enjoy! CJP Gods don't kill people. Newbie 0 #8 June 7, 2005 A friend came into the office today and she took her parents to see Billy Elliot last night and said it was absolutely amazing. No idea on cheap tickets, but there is this small ticket stand thing in Leicester Square that "reports" to sell cheap tickets, but can't confirm if it does or doesn't - might be worth investigating though. Have a fantastic trip and if you need specifics on eating, post up, as food is more my knowledge area of specialty "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
