My mom colored my hair purple for a rock concert at the age of 13...I was wearing black lip stick at all times as well....as being considered one of those 'FREAKS'.... If my mom would have tried to 'shelter' me...I wouldn't have turned out as I did. I am not perfect, but I could have been a lot worse. I would have hid things from her when i needed someone to talk to, or someone to get advice from.
