ACMESkydiver 0 #51 June 2, 2005 QuoteQuoteDon't even attempt to put this moron in with people that truly need tolerance. This person isn't the one on my list of morons , I make no assumptions about their intellect based on what they're wearing. Carry on.... Blues, Ian 'Moron' was a poor choice of words on my part. Gothic - I don't dig it myself, but I don't have issue with that style in itself as far as feeling there is a right to limit or abolish it. There's plenty of that on campus, and it's just what it is. I don't care either way. Like I said, I don't dress like that, but if that's what they wanna do, as long as I'm not subject to seeing your genitals exposed, I'm not going to be offended. (Note I have not referenced the girl. She isn't exposed) The exposure part I do take issue with. Of course, like Remster said (I think it was Rem) this probably wasn't just out in the street in public where you wouldn't expect to see this. Obviously this picture was put up for shock value. If it was passed around at a gothic nudist colony (or whatever that is?! ) it wouldn't draw the response that it did. QuoteIf this person was harming someone else in some way, sure you have a leg to stand on -If this was in public where I raise my kids here in Washington, then yes he is harming people and he would be arrested. About my daughter...any man exposing his genitals to her would have some serious repercussions...that's not tolerance, and there are laws against that. There are so many greater issues to stand up for than allowing some guy to hang his nasty self out in public. Maybe for him or for you, that's the most worthy cause you could hang your hat on. If it is, I feel bad for ya...but I doubt it. I hope it was just for the sake of this thread.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Amanduh 0 #52 June 2, 2005 Just to give you some insight... Teach your kids to be close-minded and they will end up either rebelling or seeking guidance 'elsewhere'. My mom colored my hair purple for a rock concert at the age of 13...I was wearing black lip stick at all times as well....as being considered one of those 'FREAKS'.... If my mom would have tried to 'shelter' me...I wouldn't have turned out as I did. I am not perfect, but I could have been a lot worse. I would have hid things from her when i needed someone to talk to, or someone to get advice from. Instead, because of her understanding and open-mindness..I found myself confiding in my mom more than anyone else.
