Did I offend some cosmic force?

Recommended Posts

Because if I did, I sure am sorry. :(

I'm in the middle of a stressful kind of time and things just don't want to go right. I've been trying to take each day with as much grace and optimism as I can muster, but today is really testing me!

My roommate comes home for lunch and informs me that my Jeep has a flat tire. Maybe that doesn't sound like much, but given the last couple of days...Anyway, I go down to assess it and since it's between thunderstorms, I decide to switch it to the spare. I get everything out including my rain fly from my tent so I can set up the jack on the axle without getting wet (ha, ha). Just as I start jacking up the car, another torrential onslaught of rain begins. So, I'm standing in the rain feeling more pitiful by the nanosecond and just start crying. Then I start laughing because what else can you do? I gave up on the tire. There's no good time to change it and I'm not planning on going anywhere so fine.

But, to whatever force I pissed off, I apologize and can I please have a little normalcy again?

I'm broke, but if anyone feels like sending a little therapeutic ice cream my way that would sure be kind of ya. :)
Do you ever just have one of those days (or weeks?) when you start feeling like you're really being tested? How did you cope with it? And did you burn a candle or make an offering to the gods to get your life back? :P

Yep... it sucks...

Laugh about it, Write about it, tell others about it, Pet my dog... :D

No, does that work?

I'm reminded of the statement...

"This too Shall Pass." If we are always happy then how would we distinguish being happy from being sad... and the same applies for sadness... anger, etc... but remember always that "This too shall pass." :P

Hey there, hon...:)
Hopefully the flat can be easily fixed and I'll bring plenty of Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk with me to FL in 3 weeks.

Just think, only 7 more days and you'll be finished with your medical boards!B| These are all small things and easily surmountable.

Hey woman....we're just up the road at St. George Island...in FL. Enjoying the 5-10 minutes of sun between rain showers. If ya' need a relaxing (heh, heh, heh....) beach break.... (you're probably better off with the jeep...lol)

Peace~

I don't mind rain.

I like rain...you know, unless I'm standing in it trying to jack up my truck and my hair is falling into my eyes and I feel like it's a personal assault against me! :P

You're in Florida! Sweet! :)
But, the beach would be good. In fact, stepping away from First Aid would be a move in the right direction, I think! B|

Yes. Today is one of those days. So was yesterday. In fact, the last week has been somewhat of a blur of bitterness and dark thoughts and emotions. At least I am getting some good results professionally. But this daily grind has gotten me down in the last week...

Cheers to you! Remember, happiness is nothing more than a temporary period between two unhappy times...

Whenever I am in a situation that I don't like, I take a couple of deep breaths, relax my mind, and visualize myself watching someone in the same predicament I am in. I imagine myself taunting them in every cruel way I can think of, laughing heartily at their pain.

For some twisted reason, the ridiculousness of that visualization makes me laugh and feel better.

One caution, though. When a very dear friend was having a bad day a few years ago, I tried snapping her out of it by calling her a crybaby and taunting her. It worked great, but a few months later I was having a very down day and she returned the favor. Ouch--payback really sucks!!! I did get a really great laugh from the irony, though, and did indeed feel better for a while.

Dude! What's wrong? If your professional stuff is going well, that would leave the family stuff... I hope it's okay!

And Dagny, come on, all you said was wrong was the flat and the rain! That is hardly a torrent of bad stuff happening to you. I think the best thing to do is just to look at what's wrong, identify what needs to be done to fix it, and then start getting those things done.

Happened to me when I got into my car and the battery was dead. I was about to go to work, so now I knew I would be late. I had to go all over to get the battery and alternator tested, and all kinds of stuff, but I just looked it all in the eye and did it. The feeling of accomplishment works wonders for the spirit! :)

Professionally I'm gettign good results. I'm just not having fun doing it this last week or so... Just bought a house and I've got another month before I can move into it and get rid out of this dern rental.

Still tired from a weekend trip to Lo Angeles to see my fam.

Just that kind of stuff. The paralegal's been out the last couple of days, which has created a good-sized backlog. Oh, the joys of running a business.
