Stewie 0 #1 May 19, 2005 I have 3 weddings this summer and I don't know what to give as gifts. I'm the only person in the "circle of friends" that's still in school and broke. Any suggestions for gifts that are meaningful, but...how shall I say this....fuck it...CHEAP???!!! Some of the bridesmaids and my mom actually suggested selling my "stupid skydiving stuff" so I could get "something that will impress them". I'm thinking a hardcover copy of the Kama Sutra and edible underwear for each couple "Fuck that. I'll take a good ass-pounding over a bj any day." -- pyrotech

MGSkyFlyer 0 #3 May 19, 2005 Try finding out where they are going for their honeymoon. Find a cute box and put fun stuff in it. Maybe if they are going to Hawaii...two leis...some chocolate covered mac nuts...etc. Or fun games ...or better yet fun sex games. Sometimes the staple gift that most people get is nice, but is missing something personal to the couple. Buy a polaroid camera and film...maybe fuzzy handcuffs lol. No but in all seriousness write down what they like, and what you think they would like without being overly crazy or naughty and improvise!

Here's my 2 cents. First of all, don't worry about making the groom happy--weddings are all about the bride. If possible, tactfully ask the bride's mom for suggestions. Another thing that many brides do is sign up for one or more bridal registries. These are stores that maintain lists of gifts that have been purchased for specific brides so that you do not have to worry about buying a duplicate gift. Often, these registries are at gift shops and the people there can steer you toward inexpensive gifts. If any of the brides are jumpers, you've got it made--a jump ticket or two will do just fine! If any of the couples are not already living together, then anything that will help them set up a new home is good--barware, vases, candle holders, etc. I hope this helps. What will impress them is if you buy them something off their registry so they dont have to return it.

wmw999 2,445 #11 May 19, 2005 If you have cool or unique pictures of them, one of those artistically framed. Artistically framed can include a rustic frame made out of carefully-preserved old fence slats. Most of my really cheap ideas are more girly -- things like hand-appliqued dish towels. Takes almost no time and even less money. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
