sistaluv 0 #1 May 10, 2005 Have you noticed no matter where you are in the world, if you bump into a beginner or advanced skydiver anywhere, there is an instant bond. I tried to explain it to "wofos" but they just don't get it. It doesn't really matter what they think cause I'm lovin every minute of it and hope to meet as many of you one day Blue Skies and Terminal Memories 4 Life

mnealtx 0 #3 May 10, 2005 I met a fellow jumper here at Bondsteel... he was passing through on mission... we talked for about 10 minutes before he had to go. It was still pretty cool to be 'recognized', though!Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
WrongWay 0 #4 May 10, 2005 Yup. I've bumped into a few skydivers at places like a mall, an amusement park, and a zoo. It's pretty cool to hang out with people you've never met and feel comfortable because of a common bond. Wrong Way D #27371 Mal Manera Rodriguez Cajun Chicken Ø Hellfish #451 The wiser wolf prevails. masterrig 1 #6 May 10, 2005 I was at a car dealership the other day and saw a young man whose car was loaded-down with his belongings. He was waiting to have his car worked on. I asked him how long he had been skydiving. He looked at me strangely and said; "... about 3-yrs, how did you know I was a skydiver?" I told him, I noticed his full-face helmet on his back seat. There is something that just 'gives it away', about a skydiver... without saying anything. Chuck
sistaluv 0 #7 May 10, 2005 Not only personality, but necklace, tie die, clothing, jumpsuites and any non jumper wouldn't recognize a parachute, they would probably think its a back pack. Blue Skies and Terminal Memories 4 Life
masterrig 1 #8 May 10, 2005 You can't always put your finger on what it is... it's just 'there'!? Speaking of not knowing a rig from a back-pack... a few years ago, a friend had his gear stolen and when they caught the guy, he said; "I thought it was a back-pack!" justaflygirl 0 #9 May 11, 2005 about a year ago, I was in the elevator at our local hospital, a guy who was also there said to me" so you skydive huh?" after I gave him the wierdest look ever, I remembered that I was wearingmy closing pin necklace. He then mentioned my closing pin by name, but he swore over and over that he didnt jump, and never had.... weird huh?
masterrig 1 #10 May 11, 2005 Ya' just never know... it's really a small world. You're just 1 of a small number, worldwide who skydives. That's kinda cool! Keep on keepin' on. Chuck
GratefulDreamer 0 #11 May 11, 2005 This past Thanksgiving I got into a car accident outside of Birmingham Al. in BFE somewhere...well my foot was sliced open and I had to go to the hospital for stitches. My doctor points at my closing pin necklace and is like "you're a skydiver, I am too". It was awesome he told me about his base jumping and showed me pics and all that good stuff while he sewed up my foot. Its great to have friends everywhere...-Tammy, Pink Mafia Sister #190 Pink Mafia Tunnel Sister #
masterrig 1 #12 May 11, 2005 Cool story. You never know when or where you'll meet another skydiver. It's quite a tight fraternity/sorority. How was his sewing? He'd maybe, make a good rigger, too! Chuck

WrongWay 0 #15 May 18, 2005 I'm currently in Ohio. Will be in California within a few months. Tecumseh is in Michigan. Complicated enough for you yet? Okay I'll try harder..... Tecumseh is 544.12 miles from Ottawa. Me personally, I'm 732.91 miles from Ottawa. When I move, I'll be 3009.36 miles from Ottawa. In other words, you better be gettin' your butt to Tecumseh! ACMESkydiver 0 #16 May 18, 2005 I've never met another skydiver by random chance off of a DZ. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
sistaluv 0 #17 May 18, 2005 Well thats not that far, I still 8hrs north of Ottawa. I'm moving within a year or so, probably back out west. Well you'll never know where I'll pop up, I am pretty spontaneous. The only problem now is I haven't jumped for over a year because of a car accident. The doctors say I should never jump again but I don't believe them. I have a compressed vertibrae t19-10. The people in the small town i live in are against skydiving but doesn't bother me, they have no idea.Ya and by the way I seen some of your video and damb thats what is getting me more stoked to go on a road trip soon.
