Let's see pics of your cool pocketknives!

Recommended Posts

Nothin' wrong with those! At least they're "users" -- the Dark Star, I don't want to go and cut stuff with! :D (Well, good thing I have a bunch of other knives I'm willing to use.)

I think I remember hearing somewhere that the Delica is about the top-selling knife around!

Oh, sorry to mislead: that Dark Star is NOT a black-blade model (dunno if they made them as such, anyway). That's just the way the flash made the pic come out. It's a plain old satin-finish ATS-34 stainless blade.

I posted the pic of that one because I just love admiring that knife. It's ...handsome? Feels really nice in the hand, too.

I like to use them. I lose them too.:( The Delica is probably a top seller cos of all the ones I lost! I used to carry an Endura, but the way people pull back when you whip it out to peel an apple made me feel self consious.:$ My GF has a Spyderco Dragonfly that will fit even when she's wearing a Bikini. Both of us enjoy having an edge.

I wear a leatherman wave a lot of the time, use it a bit at work.
Great tool, the blades are quick to access, plus the many other useful items there.
Its also a bit easier to explain to a cop if you get pulled over and he notices it on your belt.

Ugh, I hate having to consider how conspicuous a blade is going to be in deciding whether to carry a given knife. People need to get over it. They love to make stupid comments when you present a decent folder, even in a completely non-threatening manner! "Oooh, don't hurt me! Who you gonna kill with that?!" :S Ignorant stuff. Like there's something evil about having the means to cut stuff on you.

Blade and fire. There's no excuse, now that we're no longer cavemen, for not having both available to you at virtually any given moment.

That's why I wear one of these. Great little invention, the neck knife. Shower, swim, sleep, it's always there if needed. I've allowed myself to be convinced to take it off for sex... ;) But then, I'll do anything to please a woman!

Ah, no pics, sorry.

Spyderco Endura full serration.
CRKT tanto
CRKT Kiss
Kershaw something or other
and a few others.

Basically the only knife I really care about is my Spyderco, I've carried a Spyderco Endura in the exact same manner for 10 years. Although I've gone through a handful of them, broken clips (when they were all plastic), lost knives, etc.

Blade and fire. There's no excuse

:D

I carry a Magnesium block with flint insert if I'm going away. Good for about 5000 fires... Also a small Swiss Army folder on my car keys with Blade, screwdriver, LED Light, sissors and a ballpoint. Thinking about this now, with all these edges about, I'm surprised I don't cut more stuff up!:D

Heh, I'm like a walking gear bag. Most people who know me know that they can come see me for just about anything they need. Knife. Fire. Pen. Contact lens solution. Utility cord. Flashlight. Spare batteries.

The funny thing is, people think you're odd when you have these things even as they ask you to borrow yours because they don't have their own. It's kind of like if someone's life was saved in a vehicle fire, and they looked at the guy who saved them and said, "What kind of weird geek keeps a fire extinguisher in his car?!" :S

Dave, that Hideaway knife looks pretty interesting. I'm not that crazy about the blade shapes, particularly because I always keep sharpening in mind, and avoid blades that would be a bitch to sharpen (that's why no full-serrated Spydercos). But the concept is cool, and I do like their kydex sheaths. They look very professional.

Right now, I have two of BendyWendy's Delicas to sharpen for her. Got in a little over my head volunteering to do it, because I'm real good sharpening straight blades, but serrations are a lot more work. I loaned her one of my plain edge Delicas in the meanwhile because I felt bad for taking so long. :$

Spend a little time reading about the hideaway knives. The story behind them and what they offer. They have a lot of different blade shapes and will custom make what you want.;)

EEeee!

I like that! Looked a little odd at first till I read "Concept." Maybe a future run of "Birthday knives"

I like my Spyder edge. I have a sharpener that gets into the scallops,
so while it takes a while, it gets done, and they hold their edge really well/

Let's not talk about how many skydives this portion of my collection represents :S...

Pictured are
Spyderco Copilot
Spyderco Gunting
Spyderco Navigator
Benchmade AFCK
(on right) Benchmade Mini Griptilian

Of all of them, actually my favorite is probably the Mini Grip. Great little knife. The cool thing is that they are available in all kinds of wacky colors, even yellow, green, pink, red, blue...

no special make, but easy to open and close with one hand and/or a flicking motion - and very light and comfortable

Yeah, anything Chris Reeve is awesome. I have held Sebenzas at gun shows, but I can't justify over $300 for a pocket knife! I have a few $100+ ones and even those, I don't like to treat as "users."

Also, I'm not big on thumb-stud knives. If Reeve made a thumb-hole version of the Sebenza I'd be all over that.

The Wave is a great tool! I have one in my knapsack. I hear they have a new one out, the Surge. It's in the new NRA magazine, and they bill it as an improved Wave. Would love to check it out, but since I don't need to replace my Wave, I'd have a hard time justifying spending good jump-tix money on it.

Cool, Sid! Thanks for makin' good with a photo!

That looks like it might be a Buck. Could it be?

It might be, I honestly don't know, but it works really well for me. I want to upgrade though, I already bent the tip on this one......

Check out Knifecenter, then, and in the brand search box, select either Benchmade or Spyderco. There is virtually nothing you could get from either of those manufacturers that will not be an excellent knife to have and to use.
