Balls 0 #10 May 12, 2005 To burn of stress I usually go jogging. Nothing like 5-10 miles to think about everything or nothing at all. To relax I like to sleep or watch a movie.---------------------------------------- ....so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." antifly 0 #12 May 12, 2005 that reminds me... a long road trip on your own is great for relaxing... those are great for just thinking about everything or nothing at all.... but they need to be the kind where you're visiting a friend... not the ones that are business trips... Driving is really calming for me too because I grew up travelling everywhere by car with my family. I can get a lot of thinking done on any long-ish drive, but roadtrips are the best. ~skysprite
skybytch 273 #14 May 12, 2005 Sex. And playing on the swings at the park. Not neccessarily at the same time (although that could be fun... ) I like long road trips too. Nothing like getting away from what's stressing you out to make it all better.
antifly 0 #15 May 12, 2005 YES! Swings! I forgot how relieving that can be. A great way to forget about everything. Those big ol' metal swings are hard to find nowadays. Now most parks have down-graded to those kiddie plastic swings that just don't fly that high... Now... SEX on a swing... That reminds me... There's an episode in Sex In the City where Samantha has sex on a special "sex swing"... but it's not in a park - it's hanging in the middle of her lover's room. Any one see that episode? Nightingale 0 #16 May 12, 2005 When I was in Ireland about two years ago, I was sitting by the window of a pub in Dublin watching the snow fall outside, listening to traditional music, working on my second pint of guinness. At that moment, I realized it was the first time I had truly relaxed in years. And honestly, I can't remember a time since then. in 9 days, I'll be in Hawaii. Hopefully I can remember how to relax while I'm there. Right now, however, I'm in the middle of law school finals. My stress level is through the roof, especially since I can't skydive or go to karate or dance class right now because of a sprained ankle. All my normal stress relief activities are usually athletic and physical, and my ankle won't take the strain of a bad landing or a good side kick right now, and dancing on it just ain't gonna happen. I think that after my last final, I may just lock myself in my apartment for a few days, take the phone off the hook and just take some time for myself. Maybe that'll help. I don't know. sigh. I should probably get back to cursing at my textbooks...um...I mean studying...yeah...studying...that's the right word...

Just stare at the ceiling. 4) Listen to a song you like on repeat 5) Notice everything about the song you've never paid attention to before

Nightingale 0 #24 May 12, 2005 QuoteFly fishing in Montana. Especially in remote streams where I won't see another person the entire day. Very relaxing. There's some great fishing in Yellowstone by the Roosevelt Lodge. Roosevelt is one of my favorite places in Yellowstone, probably because it's the most remote facility you can drive to. It's nice just sitting on the porch and watching the sunset. damn...I need to go back there. It's been a few years.
Darius11 12 #25 May 12, 2005 I am good at relaxing. Come home. Make a kick ass dinner, some wine, some green, sit out on the deck watch the sunset, music playing. Oh not to mention my hooka I love that thing and believe it or not it is only used for tobacco the hooka that is.
