What do you know about Fort Worth?

Recommended Posts

Very fun town. Very modern with lots to do. Close to Dallas and about an hour from Skydive Dallas.

Phreezone was just there for 3 weeks for work, so I'm sure he'll be popping into this thread soon.

I like the place.:)

Excellent to hear, hon. I really enjoyed your visit last week. Sorry I've been too busy to call.[:/] I'll make it up to you manana.

And, if Kelly were to move to the DFW area, then, umm, wow, whoa....I don't know if the state is prepared enough for that one.

Hell, I live 2 hours away in OK and now suddenly feel the need to build a fallout shelter if she's moving here.

Well, there's a job listing on the internet that looks really good, but it's in Fort Worth. But I don't know anything about the area, so I didn't know if the job was worth looking into.

Living in the city is expensive - like most other large cities. There's plenty of smaller towns in the area within a (reasonably) short commute to work.

I'll try to get hold of my "adopted mom-in-law" and see what other info I can get from her... she's building a house outside one of the outskirt towns....

Yep, I'm just running away from her. :D

I could just use a change. I doubt I'll ever leave the great state of GA without some sort of "full-time sex" proposition, but it makes me feel better to pretend, I think. :D

You're not being very nice:P:D:D

I spent about 18 months total living there and working co-op sessions at General Dynamics. (The plant is now part of Lockheed-Martin). Summary:
- Very low-cost housing.
- Very dry climate.
- Friendliest jumpers I've ever encountered.
- The Hispanic Texans generally speak better English than the Caucasian Texans.
"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.

Puh-lenty of clubs and such for entertainment, along with some awesome museums in the DFW area.

The closest turbine DZ is Skydive Dallas, about 45-60 mins away. Super Otter and a Caravan. Great DZ.

Summer, well, think GA, but a skosh hotter, but without anywhere near the humidity usually. It's not bad at all. The winters can get really chilly, and snow isn't unheard of. However, when it does get cold, Houston is just a short trip south.;)

And, I'm going to regret telling you this if it scares you off, but DFW is right in the middle of tornado alley. But they're really not much to worry about.
