freeflir29 0 #1 May 5, 2005 If so........How does it compare. The only Non US carrier I have ever been on is Lufthansa. How nice is business class on transcontinental flights?
mnealtx 0 #2 May 5, 2005 I've flown it, but in cattle-car class... service was ok, seats (in CCC) seemed to be a bit smaller than other carriers....Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
freeflir29 0 #3 May 5, 2005 I was just checking out their site and business class looks decent. Kinda like most carriers domestic first class. I figure if my sweety has to fly that far to see me I might as well pamper her on the way. It's about $1000 difference from Coach but she is worth every penny. yarpos 4 #4 May 5, 2005 hi they are average at best.....and worst of all you may have the misfortune to transit Paris airport which seems to include a better than average chance of delays and/or loosing you luggage...but thats just my bitter and twised opinion. PS..I am not anti France....i love the country and the people....they just do crap air travel....IMO Steveregards, Steve the older I get...the better I was
bob.dino 1 #5 May 5, 2005 Only on shorthaul, at which they were pretty good. For fancy-pants transatlantic, Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class is very good. Emirates are also excellent.

Yes.............she'll have to connect in Paris. Air France is by far the cheapest from Washington to Barcelona according to Expedia.
mr2mk1g 10 #7 May 5, 2005 Did CDG to LAX last year. Had appalling service. First off the smelly frogs who load the plane went on strike (its in the French constitution that every French worker must strike every third week) so we got crap packets of weird picnic stuff which was horrible instead of in flight food. No provision for vegetarians which pissed off my travel companion greatly. Had TV’s at intervals in the isles instead of in the back of head rests. Staff were all French and uppity. Vowed never to travel with them again. But then if the price was right... and I might have just had a couple of crappy planes.
gordy 0 #8 May 5, 2005 Yeah flew Air France to Japan from Scotland, and it was a complete mare, they lost my luggage, and the service blew on the plane, and while trying to get my luggage at the other end.
freeflir29 0 #9 May 5, 2005 OK...........how about British Airways? It's only about $100 more.
gordy 0 #10 May 5, 2005 I have flown BA too, and it was good, but thats reflected in the price
freeflir29 0 #11 May 5, 2005 Quotebut thats reflected in the price Holy shit you ain't kiddin. The COACH ticket is only about $100 more but the Business/Club class is ANOTHER $1000 on top of AF business class! AF=$2355 BA=$3321. Plus BA's flights connect in London...Come into Heathrow and LEAVE from GATWICK!!!! Screw that!
PurpleBadger 0 #12 May 5, 2005 didn't have TO much of an issue with Air France, but that only because they gave me an upgrade which meant the seven hour delay to defrost some sensor was a little easier to deal with. BA is good, I like Virgin most it definatly has the best service that i've come across.
freeflir29 0 #13 May 5, 2005 OK..............How about KLM? They make me skiddish because I have to book through Nortwest's web site. After being an Air Marshal for 2 years I HATE Northwest. Oldest planes, oldest flight attendants, and their gate agents were ASSHOLES. But I also wasn't a "paying" customer. So anyway........what's KLM like? They're Dutch........aren't all Dutch people nice? Why am I picturing the captain getting on the PA and saying "I'm vrom Holland........Isn't Ssat Vierd!" Oh.......and the price is GOOD. Slightly cheaper than Air France!
Paige 0 #14 May 5, 2005 Business Class Rocked beyond all belief for my 12 hour flight to Paris. Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
Kris 0 #15 May 5, 2005 Fuck Air France. I've flown with them 7 times and had missed connections 3 times! BA slightly rocks. KLM rocks like Gibralter. Interesting story....when I was doing business trips overseas, it was company policy that we had to use first / business class for overseas travel and we used KLM. They always give you nifty gifts and over time I got 3 weird, but cool little ceramic houses. I had them for about a year before I realized that the chimney was plugged with wax and there was alcohol inside.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
freeflir29 0 #16 May 5, 2005 QuoteI had them for about a year before I realized that the chimney was plugged with wax and there was alcohol inside That's FREAKIN HILARIOUS!!!! KLM it is then.....and it's like $110 cheaper for business class with them! Thanks Kris!
piisfish 140 #18 May 5, 2005 with Air France (or Air Chance) you won't be able to travel with your rig as a carry on... And might have problems with it in the hold too... They suck for skydivers.scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
